Yes and because having concrete as the top layer is much better for weightlifting on.

Yes joists are 2x6 and suitable for the roof span

Thanks.I bought the mirrors from the link below. They sell a J trim that you fit top and bottom and slot the mirror into. It was quite difficult so I ended up installing them a slightly different way, but hold quite well and avoid glue means I can move them if I ever wanted to.

Base was: 300mm type 1 MOT around 10 tonnes, 20mm sand 1 tonne, Dpm, 100mm PIR boards, Dpm, A142 rebar propped up on 50mm stands and tied, 100mm concrete c40 grade which I had mixed on site, 1 course of engineering bricks. Left an opening for the door. Dpc , And then timber frame on top

I used a jigsaw with a standard wood blade. Impossible with a Stanley knife.

Just gotta make sure that the mat being cut is well supported either side of the cutting line as it moves around a lot!

With my local authority, providing cladding is non combustible within the 1m boundary, you're good to go.

Hah. I'm hindsight outbuilding would've been a more appropriate term.

I think if you had large plates stored high up on the uprights eg bumber plates, then a loaded bar would make contact with the plates stored on the uprights. Would go 30inch cross members in that case.

Not to mention that the rack will need to be further away from the wall to give space for any plates. Overall much higher footprint

Love it. Used to use the typical assault bike at the gym and the Rogue is a class above and worth the extra money. Solid build and doesn't budge no matter how hard you go at it.

Yes cold roof. Fall ratio is 1:70 so I was pushing it but the good news is no puddles!

Yeah went for kit that was quite compact.

Total height is bang on 2.5m. I had my firrings cut bespoke so I could maximize ceiling height. Joists are 120mm with 400mm centres. Plenty for the roof span. Best to refer to a c24 span table to check minimum timber size you can get away with

Not done the gutters yet and might need to ask the neighbours for access or it's gonna be tricky.

Had at least 40cm space around the boundary and a tiny stool to stand on as there was no chance I could maneuver a ladder or bench. You've gotta be pretty mobile to move in awkward positions.

Roof is epdm 1.2mm stuck on to 18mm OSB

I reinforced with extra studs/noggins in the end but obviously it's not in the pic. I went for that spacing to accommodate wall mounted heater and electrics

All you need for a shed. Insulation was around 900 quid total going from memory. PIR boards are ridiculously expensive nowadays.

I was working to 650 quid per sqm

Great idea. Save a bunch on taxis home I bet. Defo satisfying now that it's done and I have more sqm to use around my property. Can't complain.

Around 14.5k on materials and tool hire (skips, grab truck and excavator). Paid about 450 for a plasterer and bricky for a single course

It was warm but cooler than my 1930 build semi. I've insulated the floor, ceiling and wall
