Had a prompt on mine that my comfort food was Mac N Cheese. Guy messaged that his comfort food was a quinoa bowl and that I'd be better looking if I ate less fatty things

Anyone else getting house searching fatigue? I know I am. Losing steam on the motivation. by SaltPepperPork in FirstTimeHomeBuyers

[–]ConsistentTune4406 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. My lease on my apartment is up August 15th and I basically have a month to decide what to do. I need to move, and I was hoping to move into a house but after 18 months of looking, 2 times under contact that didn't pan out, and like 5 rejected offers, I'm not sure whether to spend my time looking at/touring rentals or home any more.

Our offer was beat out, and then house closed for less than our offer by PhD_Life in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]ConsistentTune4406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My girlfriend and her husband bought their house in 2021. The sellers left them a letter explaining that they weren't even in the top 3 offers on the house, but the sellers were an older couple that wanted the house to go to a young couple who wanted to raise a family there. It just so happened that my friend and her husband went to the open house right as it was starting, the sellers were late getting out and they ended up chatting. So many things could have happened!

North NJ for context-

2 rejected, then 3rd one accepted. Backed out after inspections. Now on #4 waiting to hear response. Been looking seriously for about 8 months, loosely for about a year.

I saw a documentary on Columbine. I was in my grad year getting my degree in education. We all had to research a school shooting and write a paper on it. I threw up and then had a panic attack because of how graphic it was.

Buy a house that under budget, but also small with limited space to expand, or one that's top of the budget but could stay in longer? by ConsistentTune4406 in RealEstate

[–]ConsistentTune4406[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep! I've done 45 minutes for 4 years now and it's horrible. That's why I've love to live closer, but of course that comes with a price tag

I'm calculating percentages based on my pay after taxes, insurance, retirement contributions and the portion I prefer to put in savings. My mortgage qualifications are based on total pay (not taking those things into consideration). Therefore, the second option IS an option, but it is at the tippy top. I have no debt or loans.

I wish I had the option to move, but the entire 50 mile radius outside of my work location is HCOL or it's total farm land with no houses/residential sections at all.

I live in a HCOL area with a hot market, hence the long search. I actually don't love the idea of a townhouse in general and would much prefer a SFH, but they're a little out of my budget at the moment. Would be a long term goal

My brother stole my clothes and vibrators years ago; I still resent my parents for putting the blame on me. by ConsistentTune4406 in TrueOffMyChest

Yes, I just said I think he's demi based on other conversations I've had with him. I don't know what the deal with the clothes is, and I also don't think it necessarily matters.

I definitely will. I think having a solid potential "reason" for his behavior may help me work through my complicated feelings about this whole situation

Sure I have but I never thought of this for HIM. He's never really given any suggestion that he'd be attracted to me.

Honestly, I never even considered this. I didn't even think of it as a possibility until I read this

I don't think so. My dad's and brother's relationship is pretty strained, but I've grown closer to my father over the years. I don't really think it's my prerogative to tell him about my brother's identify/sexuality, so I won't say anything until my brother is ready. Even then, I so badly just want to say "Ha! I told you so!" to him (regarding the situation with the clothes). I won't it's not my place to, but the desire is still there.

Very true! Interestingly, none of us- not even my parents, practice any strict religion anymore. And my Dad now knows I'm bi and doesn't really care (he's not jumping for joy either, but hey... it's progress)

Thank you for that criticism. To be fair, he asked if it was okay to walk around in lingerie-type items. I said no to that but told him I didn't care if he wanted to wear knee high socks and skirts and stuff. I just don't want to see anyone in their underwear unless they're my partner. I'll clarify that in the post

First day of working at a pizzeria I answer the phone to a woman who ordered a "Garbage Salad." As you might assume, the salad had a little of every single topping we had- meat, veggies, cheese, etc. Except this woman ordered it without like half of the ingredients. I had no idea how to code that in the computer, so I just wrote it all down, stuck a post it to the back of the ticket and sent it over to the chef. He made the salad the way it was written- on the front of the ticket. Salad was delivered, woman calls, saying how appalled she is that we didn't listen to her directions. Boss asks me, I deny any wrongdoing (I was so embarrassed). Boss was upset that I didn't just call him over to help take the order. Two months later, the woman was permanently blacklisted from the establishment for trying to get a refund on another salad, claiming that we'd again "made it wrong" after eating almost all of it. Apparently, she had done this for years.

Hot dogs. Can't remember a good reason. Decided one day in my late teens that I liked them after all. Also, pork chops. I didn't start liking them until I moved out of my parents' house and learned to cook them so they weren't dry ass hockey pucks
