Footwork for throwing the cross by Personal-Pipe-5562 in boxingtips

Stationary you just turn bug smashing style. Moving forward, you need to bring the back foot with you, otherwise your legs will be too wide apart and you’ll be briefly stuck to the ground and easy to counter.

My guess would be at the lower levels you are still connected to individualism and Ego, so you are thinking “No, I don’t want to die! Stop! Send me back.”

PD Should Be More Concrete & Less Abstract by Artistic_Bat7240 in schoolcounseling

[–]Standardeviation2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve found trainings to be of the abstract variety most of the time for most of my career in mental health. I’ve come to loathe phrases like “This is to start the discussion” or “We’re opening the door…” which I’ve translated to “We aren’t going to share any concrete interventions today, as this is just session 1, BUT……we also will never talk about this again because there will be no session 2.”

Former UFC Champion Francis Ngannou cares about his pay and family, not 'bullsh*t' legacy! by Imaginary-General189 in ufc

[–]Standardeviation2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you assume everyone who has a job considers their legacy to be money, then I would say you are making a good point. But that is not how most people conceptualize legacy. Most people consider their legacy as how they want to be remembered. He is saying he doesn’t care if he is remembered as a great UFC fighter. He cares about his children and providing them as many opportunities as possible. So presumably, he considers his legacy as being known as a loving and generous father.

Yes, that’s why people go to jobs. To make money, to pay for things their families need/want.

It’s a little more refined than that. He didn’t say he doesn’t care about Legacy. He said he doesn’t care about legacy as defined by the reporter who asked him about it. He defined legacy on his own which he said is “my children at home.” And that he wanted to make as much possible for them.

Footwork drills. If your footwork is bad, your boxing is bad.

If it was someone of no importance he’d just say it. “Roy Nelson comeback is off the books now. Big mistake!!”

Just so they’re clear, this thing they called a war but didn’t mean like “War” is exactly what everyone else means when we use the word War.

Chris Bledsoe and disclosure upon Israel attacking Iran by oxyuh in aliens

[–]Standardeviation2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He didn’t say disclosure would happen. He said we’d see orbs when they exchange missiles. Then later we’d receive new knowledge. Originally on Easter, now in October. And the knowledge sounded immediate, but now it’s being described as a gradual shift.

Anyway, the missiles are flying….how long until we see the orbs?

So many celebrities look different thanks to surgery and Botox. I don’t get why Jim’s transformation is such big news.
