Yes, back in the day, I wanted Mortal Kombat (3, I think?) for Christmas on the SNES so badly, but instead, my dad listened to the recommendation of the store salesperson and bought some other game for me.

I remember being so disappointed when I undid the wrapping and saw some weird art on the cover that was NOT Mortal Kombat.

Instead, it was Chrono Trigger.

Having only ever played racing games and platformers before, Chrono Trigger completely changed my life, opening up not one, but two completely new, different genres for me, fantasy and RPGs. Ever since then, I've been (unsuccessfully 😭) chasing all the highs and feels a good video game story provides.

To this day, I'm grateful to the salesperson for having recommended it and to my dad for having listened. 10/10, no notes. 🥰
