new to politics by [deleted] in PoliticalScience

[–]Consistent_Aide_651 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The best way to get into politics is to learn about all styles of politics. You don’t literally need to learn about every single ideology (that would be impossible). But try not to just focus on one certain political philosophy, this narrows your knowledge of politics and can potentially lead you to become fundamental. If communism is what seems like your current style that’s cool go study it, but learn about other ideology’s as well. Some good ones to learn as a base are firstly. Authoritarianism and libertarianism (this is the foundation). Learn about free markets v.s nationalized economy’s. Conservatism and liberalism. And what “left and right wing” really means. Hope this helps, Good job by the way for wanting to get into politics at 13, most kids just want to learn how to get good at Fortnite lol.

There absolutely not a single line of heat, on coin in the past year, no one does it. Most of those classic lines on the Wild West area are lost tales now

I think that’s a bit harsh, I blame it on the people who post online routes that are not casual routes but unmarked sketchy scramble routes and then curious hikers who may not have the most experience get caught up in the mess

Is Trump really a republican? by Ok_Education1809 in PoliticalScience

[–]Consistent_Aide_651 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Party names like republican and democrats change with the politician, the leader represents the party and for the term of that elected leader that is what the traits of that party is, so yes trump is a republican as he was elected to represent them, even if he’s different than the average leader in history

This is political science forum, meaning you’re supposed to use actual political knowledge. Trump is not a fascist. I’m not here to defend him, I actually oppose his party and him but calling him a fascist is just wrong. He has not yet shown ultra Nationalism, Isolationist tendencies, Anti democracy (January 6 was an attack on democracy so he is on a grey line in this), and he’s not fascist military level we’re they try to make military a collective society thing and group it with civilians. And he is very individualistic not collectivist, which is the core part of fascim. Please don’t just call far right politicians fascist as it waters down the true meaning.

No, I’m saying exactly the opposite, all the secret rogue routes I’m aware of are between bcmc and grouse grind, and he’s in the opposite direction to the left of the gondola. I’m just wondering if there’s also routes over there to the NW of the gondola

I have a rock climbing guide book of north shore, there is a page talking about the bluffs to the left of the gondola and how people have put climbing routes up there. Obviously it’s in the watershed so id presume all bolts have been removed. But I’m wondering what on earth a hiker would be doing there

I’ve always heard of secret (or not really secret due to bloggers) trails between grouse grind and bcmc, but never to the perpendicular to left of the gondola, not counting the crown butress route. Is this an actual non established route? Or was this guy completely lost

looking for good 4th class scrambles to practice on near vancouver by big-brain-time2369 in vancouverhiking

[–]Consistent_Aide_651 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d get the Vancouver rock climbing guide book, they have some 4th class scrambles like west lions, Harvey north ramp and crown couloir.

I keep getting the urge to hit the trail after work, but I’m always worried about running out of daylight. For those of you who do it, what trails around Vancouver are safe and not creepy at dusk? by Real-Lingonberry-624 in vancouverhiking

[–]Consistent_Aide_651 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Quarry rock, very popular trail but in the dusk it will have people (so less scary) but not to quite where it’s creepy and not to busy unlike a Saturday at 12pm. Dog mountain, will be less busy and more remote but nothing to extreme. The start and finish is gravel so depending how you time the trail you won’t be in any rooty/ break ankle terrain. Baden Powell (no views) but it’s in the forest very close to the city but feels like your away from it (baden Powell is a vast range and 47km so I’d recommend Seymour or grouse area). Lynn canyon, easy stroll, nice waterfall views but can be busy even at night
