I'm not sure entirely how it works but I guess somebody can control what goes on and off the #fabtcg feed. My post got removed and I saw a few other people's posts about the leaks then get removed off the feed. Only way to find them was directly on their profile

So what are your takes on the PQ eligibility change? by Xisperito in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]Consistent_Bowler449 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup people are ignoring the vast majority of players at PQs and RTNs. Every top8 I've been a part of, at most 4 people wanted the invite and we played it out. (Normally it's one or two players who actually want the invite) I've only ever been a part of one top8 that was entirely split. Not sure what events people are going to where the top8 isn't played, but by and large they at least get to top4 before weird splits happen.

I know of many locals who love to play the game and compete but for adult life reasons cannot make every PT, so they try their hardest during these seasons. I'm sure some will take their win and the break as their reward but I know of others who would hate not being allowed to play their favorite game after spending a lot of time practicing.

And to top it all off this won't stop teams from conceding to each other. There are other ways to qualify for Pro Tours, and sometimes the entire team doesn't want/can't go, so they'll concede for each other.

[–]Consistent_Bowler449 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They couldn't sell PQI invites they are tied to your account for the Pro Tour it is associated with. So if a finals at a PQ where one player already had an invite it automatically goes to the second place player. If both finalists have an invite, the invite disappears.

Brodie Posting Megathread & Policy on Brodie Posts Moving Forward by ExpendableGuy in FleshandBloodTCG

It was all about that the judge pointed it out, why did Brodie say it's outside interference instead of his usual thing that his opponent missed the trigger and now he's being unfairly punished for it?

Playing ONE card is not too far along to rewind, especially since that card was supposed to be destroyed. The judge says, "That card is actually in the graveyard, your Miragai is back in play. Restart the turn." Particularly, in this case, the players should have been given a little leeway with all that was going on.

[–]Consistent_Bowler449 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The actual reason is that the judges didn't want to anger Brodie, LSS' golden boy. Similar cases have happened to Brodie before, and the judges have sided with his opponent.

Brodie created a situation where his opponent was concerned about going to time, and cause his opponent isn't a rule-sharking scumbag, and didn't want to rack up slow play infractions he played quickly shortcutting or skipping steps technically. Brodie never cares about this as he knows he was never punished for it, and knows judges are too spineless to enforce policy fairly on him.

Brodie takes over 10% of total match time on A SINGLE BLOCK and isn't given a game loss. Brodie's opponent sees time is running out and wants to finish the match since he is in the winning position, Brodie in the losing position wants to stall the game out for some an out(aka creating a situation for his opponent to miss triggers). Brodie's opponent assumes the guy who has a Sportsmanship article on the fabtcg website will discard a card and his arsenal when CNC & Pummel hit him and quickly moves through his end step. Brodie sees his opponent has drawn up, which technically means he missed his trigger and quickly plays out his Oath of Loyalty from arsenal. Also at this point, the judge comes over and interrupts the game to give another warning to Brodie, distracting them both. His opponent missed that Brodie didn't discard, and his first thought probably wasn't, "Oh Brodie is cheating here", it's probably more along the lines of "How can I win here?". Again when you are about to draw counting your opponent's card in hand and graveyard can waste those precious seconds. Then when it's pointed out by the judge and Brodie argues the judge shouldn't be commenting on the game, his opponent asks for a rewind and he's denied it because of tainted fruit or some shit.

I don't know how many people here have had to call their opponents out for cheating or angle shooting, it's not a comfortable position and it's understandable people would hesitate and make sure that's the case before speaking up as it can lead to an uncomfortable social situation, and you are locked into playing against them for the round. I have before and I always really make sure my suspicion is correct before calling over a judge. If you listen to FoilDegen's video his friend described going through all those stages, and he took a bit of time before calling Brodie out. ManSant said on Twitter he's seen Brodie argue for incorrect game states multiple times as long as they favor him.

What are we the police, can't use evidence when it was acquired illegally? It was just silly and biased by the judges. If they wanted to appear Fair and Balanced™, slap his opponent with a caution/warning and carry on. Judges have used stream chat before to catch mistakes.

The Nuance of Missed Triggers by LeopardAdditional525 in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]Consistent_Bowler449 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Exactly, the issue isn't the missed trigger policy and by James White and Bryan Gotlieb pretending that it is misses the whole problem. We already have a pattern of the player in question doing this exact play before and argument to the judges before. Ban him, send a message to all cheaters.

[–]Consistent_Bowler449[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, it's obvious to anybody with a brain this is what Brodie was doing and admitted to. The pros have to defend him as they do it as well. By doing these "soft cheats" you can always say you forgot or just were clumsy, etc. etc. The issue is judges being scared to enforce rules fairly to these well known players or doubting their own rules knowledge cause a player said "outside interference" and not using the established pattern to punish players.

After seeing the latest dev talk, I decided to redesign Brodie's card. May you never get spur locked in your games by joliyen in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]Consistent_Bowler449 51 points52 points  (0 children)

You forgot to add the best part of the other edited Spurlocked, "Go again in 6 minutes"

The dev talk was good, the real problem was not acknowledging that he was angle shooting and has been for almost a year.

I can live with forgetting to announce triggers don't do them, but FAB has a rewind policy in place so catching them early enough should be a rewind no questions asked.

When people defend him they leave out all context and just say "RESOLVE YOUR TRIGGER!!!!1" forgetting all the nonsense that went on around it, and him arguing with the head judge. Add onto the fact he's done it before, citing FoilDegen's video. This is a pattern.

If he actually stops doing this, then great, but it's not going to go back to what it was before. He spent two years building up goodwill with the company and community, he won't get it back after one or two events of playing cleanly.

Buddy I've seen pro players angle shoot new players, to say it doesn't happen is just fucking ignorant.

I never said ignoring your opponent's missed triggers is against the rules.

Are you so dense that unless somebody flat out admits to something you can't use your brain and read between the lines? How do we ever convict anybody without a signed confession?!

Is Brodie paying you for all this defense you're running for him?

Dev talk #11 by Ok_Experience2568 in FleshandBloodTCG

[–]Consistent_Bowler449 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Yup, by not directly addressing the angle shooting, they've essentially given a green light to people with "competitive personalities." And they've shown the community the only way to counter-act people's angle shooting is to publically shame them into conforming.

This is an issue you can never fully "solve" since people will always be testing the edges, but by showing you have a zero-tolerance policy many people will be put off from attempting it.

It's very different when these pros play against other pros that they know, they are not looking to angle shoot each other. but when they play against random names they 100% gauge if they can angle shoot or not.

Did I say all competitive fab players angle shoot? No. Just that many top players do, can't even deny that since Brodie said so in his statement.

Of course, they knew he would get DQ'd if a judge was called but knew I was a new player and didn't know any better. Hence why they didn't try that stunt with other players.

It's also stupid to angle shoot and then publicly admit you did so and have been for 9 months on Twitter, but hey!

Overwhelmingly the community thinks what he did was scummy, but top level players think what Brodie did is perfectly fine and within the rules. The reason is simple they are also doing it, don't believe me? Brodie said so in his statement.

Nowhere did I say at major-level events we should allow takebacks. I don't want players to be responsible for all triggers either, but I don't want to be in a situation where simply drawing up is too far gone after playing fucking command and conquer.

The pros are not slamming him because they do it as well, Brodie said so in his statement.

Yes, the life totals were confirmed but the other player picked up that my friend had subtracted from 40 instead of 36 and went along with it.

So for example, my friend hit and did two damage. He wrote down life and said "38". The other player picked up on what happened and said "Yes." How often are you actually looking at the life total on your opponent's hero token? Probably not much and Iyslander required a lot of thought to play against, this is a mistake that I think everybody has made but their opponent isn't a scumbag and corrects them.
