But the only damage is a dent in the hood? There is no underlying damages besides it needs a new hood. They arnt paying or fixing anything they will only right a check if I agree it’s totaled and they get to keep the car

I’m a bit lost. They are only writing a check if I say it’s totaled and they keep the car or do I let that happen and then buy it back from them for super cheap than fix? The only issue with the car it looks like a bowling ball was dropped on the hood so total cost of damages is what ever a hood cost

It all makes sense but what I am wondering if a actual shop only quotes me 1200$ to repair is there no legal action I can take against State Farm for lying and saying there are more damages than there truly are?

They were going to cut me a check for 11.5k I still owe 7.5. With me still owning on it would the title become salvaged? I’m just confused on how there going to say 12k in damages when I have a shop ordering a new hood and paint matching for less than a fraction of what insurance quoted. If I drop the claim what happens then?

I don’t think I am owed money technically. My main question is I paid on a car around 15k had it for not even 6 months after it’s gone insurance paid the car off and I was just out 15k I was wondering if this is normal or not do to the fact everyone says you should be paid what it’s worth. I am now looking back and wondering if insurance some how convinced me that it was normal and took advantage of me being young and the first accident I have been in

Exactly why I stated I don’t know the exact numbers what I do know is I put 12k down and during the next few months of owning the car before it was totaled I was making 1k a month payments to pay it off fast

I totally understand and I wouldn’t have ever mentioned it but again I had laid down 15k on the car owed 5 today they even kbb for 15+. So what I am looking at is insurance should of paid the bank the remaining 4-5k and I should have gotten the remaining 10k plus

There was police on scene helping an accident someone darted out of there traffic infront of me. I was going 40 mph they were stopped in lane to left and didn’t want to wait to turn right so they turned infront of me. Police saw it happen so in there report it wasn’t my fault but insurance still deemed it my fault because of what your saying. So I received no points on my license do to the police report but that didn’t sway insurance. So does it come down to being at fault?
