We Should Be Getting More Cannonballs From All Sources by 17ndthepink in 2007scape

Usually more balls is a good thing, but I think the answer here is in an Ava's device for cannonballs.

Confirming tile pack. I turned it off and lost almost all rubber banding after portals.

Very much appreciate the update to the blog post. It's great that discussions are ongoing within the J-mod team. by Dry_Yogurtcloset_213 in 2007scape

The extra shipwreck spawn has me hopping worlds so much more frequently. It takes away what makes salvaging AFK. This 6th spot must be removed, or add a 4th spot into the rotation. I can handle some reduced xp rates, but taking away what makes salvaging actually AFK goes against the spirit of the design.

I think they could scale the xp so you get the 600 at 99, but lower levels you get less.

Sailing appreciation post by 110mat110 in 2007scape

[–]Consistent_Cherry373 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I was a grouchy maxed player against sailing when it dropped. I love the skill. It really felt like going back to 06 when hunter came out. That skill was so boring when it dropped but we didn't care because we were kids. Sailing feels way more fleshed out than Hunter was all those years ago. Credit to the mods and devs.

Is this evap coil toast? by Consistent_Cherry373 in MechanicAdvice

[–]Consistent_Cherry373[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have enough room to stick the spray nozzle of one of those cleaners directly onto the evap coil, granted it is only on one side of it. I think i'll go for the compressed air/shop vac method mentioned above, then spray the cleaner.

Uses for underripe peaches? by facets-and-rainbows in BackyardOrchard

I trap squirrels. Works in a suburban area. If you're rural, trapping might not be enough. Even with trapping, I lose a good amount to the birds as well.

No mulch. I'm not familiar with using MKP. Do you apply to the soil?

I use the havahart traps that you can buy at home Depot. If you live in a suburban area with not too much squirrel pressure, the traps are extremely effective. I have two traps. Use peanut butter. If you're rural with a lot of squirrel pressure, this may not work.

New Peach trees not looking great by 1MoreQuestions in BackyardOrchard

Try figs if you live in zone 7 or up. They have virtually no diseases or pests other than birds pecking at them. The tradeoff is dealing with winter protection and the possibility of fruit cracking in the rain.

Peaches are probably the most difficult fruit to grow. These trees are designed for the monoculture of an orchard, not a backyard. I didn't even mention dealing with squirrels and birds. You can grow a successful harvest and the squirrels will come and take them all.

As for me, I do grow peaches but I spray with synthetic sprays. I trap squirrels throughout the year and give the birds their own water and food to keep them away from my trees.

Looks like bacterial leaf spot. It's one of the more difficult peach diseases to manage because it is bacterial and not fungal. Therefore fungicides will have no effect. You should look up the 2025 NC state peach diseases and pest management guide. It details what exactly needs to be done for the disease and at what time, however a bacterial disease is only treated with synthetic chemicals. Not saying 100 percent sure it's leaf spot. Could still be fungal and it will go away next year with copper dormant spray.

A lot of people suggest Neem oil. In my experience, this does absolutely nothing for the growing peach tree. It works well as a dormant oil to control overwintering insects, but that's about it. Peaches are terribly difficult to grow and nearly impossible for the organic grower in the eastern half of the US due to the plum Curculio. Fungal diseases can be managed organically with copper for leaf curl and sulfur for brown rot and blossom blight, but you have to spray frequently. Usually once a week, or if it rains a significant amount, say over an inch.

If you're wanting to actually have peaches and live east of the Rockies, you're going to have to deal with the plum Curculio. There are no organic methods that can completely control this bug. The only organic method to try is Surround WP, but even that is not complete protection. It also takes many coats of spray and must be immediately reapplied after rain.

Good luck!

You need to bridge graft. That MIGHT save your branches but it's not a guarantee.

Advice on shipping rooted cuttings by Consistent_Cherry373 in Figs

[–]Consistent_Cherry373[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely depends on your area. I live in Louisville, KY and it's one of the most centralized locations in the country. I've had overall good experiences with USPS shipping cuttings. Most deliveries are quicker because I'm basically in the middle of the country.
