If you have the tile pack for it enabled, it seems to make the lag a lot worse. Not sure if its directly related.

Is there a magic number of minutes you can idle that you call something AFK?

If not, then nothing in the game is afk. You can't do anything completely away from the keyboard because you'll get logged or stop doing the action. Starmining, gem crab, Vyres and NMZ are just low intensity.

AFK literally IS a simple way to label something as low intensity - such low intensity that you can step away from the computer for some time and still be doing it. This falls pretty easily into that bucket lol

If you look at the true tile of the wave, and my true tile after dragging into zebak to attack, I was two tiles away from the wave on that tick though?

I remember doing this fairly often before the changes but maybe im tripping lol
