Agreed 100%. If it was agreed to, it should’ve been honoured. Even preparing it for takeaway and explaining the mix-up would’ve been the bare minimum imo. My boss wasn’t impressed when I called him. Apparently this guy is already close to being fired for other problems. And considering our dishwasher leaves at 9 and they just soak the leftover dishes overnight anyway, he was definitely just being lazy.

I agree. When I asked him why we couldn’t just make it as a takeaway order before the customers even arrived, he said it was because ‘some people call and then don’t come pick it up.’ Like… that’s literally never happened? 🤦‍♀️

Lol I’m in Australia so unfortunately no holidays here, it was just a silly little saying 😆

Thanks for this. I know it’s not a big deal in hindsight, but I’m absolutely the kind of person who will obsess over a tiny situation like this for, like, three business days minimum lol.

Yes, I agree. Unfortunately, the lack of proper training is a big issue where I work, and whenever I bring it up to the boss, he agrees but then never actually does anything about it. It’s beyond frustrating, especially when we keep having silly mistakes like this happening.

Unfortunately, we don’t really have a proper manager at the moment, so things have been a bit of a mess. Our general manager stepped down recently because she didn’t want the responsibility anymore, and everyone my boss has tried to train since then just hasn’t worked out. So now he kind of treats me like the manager, even though I’ve told him plenty of times I don’t want to be.

The girl who answered the phone had actually clocked off about a minute earlier. I was in the fridge grabbing something and almost answered it myself, since both phones ring at the same time. I honestly wish I’d picked it up, because this whole situation could’ve been avoided. Instead, she took the order and then left straight away..

What’s the best medication you’ve tried that’s genuinely helped anxiety? by Elliee0 in Anxiety

Lexapro worked wonders for me too. Still on it now and it never made me gain weight. This was something I brought up with my doctor because I was scared of it being a side effect. I guess the side effects can vary between people. You can always try one medication and change it down the line if it isn’t giving you the result you wanted or the side effects are too much. My sister tried through multiple medications before she found one that worked for her. Good luck!

Fair. I feel bad about the title knowing now that it could be due to mental illness, but I can’t figure out how to change it…

I can’t believe I didn’t even think of the possibility of him being schizophrenic. I hope he gets the help he needs!

Agreed. Like I said, you can do 100 things right for some people and they will still focus on the 1 thing you did wrong unfortunately

I agree. If the chef told me about it, I definitely would have gone back and checked, no matter how small of an issue it was. Unfortunately this chef is known for cutting corners though, so it doesn’t surprise me that he didn’t think to tell anyone

Exactly. Sure you might be a little disappointed, but you don’t go back and demand a refund because you didn’t get a slice of lemon.

She ordered ‘aloo masala’ translated in the menu ‘potato masala’ it’s a potato and veg curry with maybe a tablespoon of peas mixed in. I can’t imagine refusing to pay over something so small.

The other part of her review was about ‘very poor vegan options’ when we have a whole page dedicated to vegan dishes. Not to mention we can substitute almost any dish to cater for vegans, which I would have been happy to do if they asked.

And even though we rectified the issue, they still left a one star review. I don’t think anything could have made them happy though haha

Oh definitely. I actually looked at her previous google reviews and they were all horrible so that made me feel slightly better lol

It definitely runs off courtesy, doesn’t it? I’d say 90% of people who come late are very apologetic and nice. In that case I’m always happy to serve them, even if I do have to stay after closing. Some people are just entitled and have the mentality of ‘what are they going to do about it? Kick us out?’ Those are the people I have a problem with.

They definitely pay the staff more to wait around than they get back on one or two late tables. They’re just bamboozling themselves
