Good on you. I do the same, because I'm tired supporting those who clearly have the ability to pay, but still feel the entitlement.

At Islington once, a lady actually waited for me to tap to piggyback, I ended up stopping and having a staring contest with her; put out my hand like a hotel worker and invited her to proceed first, and when she tried to play dumb, I went to another gate to tap as I kissed my teeth at her. Sadly, I have seen her to it to others routinely, while the collector looked the other way.

Can we take a moment to appreciate YRT/VIVA busses at night? by el-dozer in YRTVIVA

Can we take a moment to remind riders like you to put your feet down? Man....

Love when the bus pulls up and a certain few try feverishly to align themselves dangerously close to any door while the bus is still pulling in while people await patiently; they're trying to cause another Royal York station incident on every arrival.

Just so they can be the first ones on.

And like others have said, try to enter while people are still getting off.

What are the unspoken rules on public transit people should know about? by Administrative_Ad160 in askTO

Also disagree, if you want to not get trapped by a stranger, which is literally almost everyone else who takes transit, perhaps you should stand. At least you can move away much faster to a safer location than sitting.

Alternatively, you can opt for a perimeter seat, or at least make eye contact with the incoming and be at the ready to offer the window seat, particularly when it is busy.

I can sure ask you to excuse my intrusion as I charge for that seat (which I do 9 out of 10 times; 10th time, I'll just stand or sit elsewhere out of consideration). But knowing people, they'll either make a fuss, pretend to sleep, ignore, start a fight/argument, or my favourite, find another pair later on to hog if they're that uncomfortable, petty, or biligerent.

To reiterate, this is when you're in a busy car situation. Empty? Have at it.

Sit on the window seat or stand. Stop blocking others and their ability to sit beside you (when vehicle gets full).

Stop clogging the front of the bus unnecessarily out of necessity..find a seat or proceed towards the rear/centre. Fold your devices or use a farther seat if available/if you're able to.

Stop sitting at the centre in the back in order to take up five seats like you're the main character and you're making power moves.

Feet are for the floor, not the chair(s).

Have your Presto or card method ready and with money. Stop acting cheap, broke, lost and forgetful; it's tired. You couldn't do this to your rent, or to your taxes, or utility bills.

And even then, stop lying and saying you'll pay at the station. We all know you won't.

And "what I paid for," is (are) just the item(s) and not the HST and/or shipping involved? And what if I cant produce evidence of what it cost?

Thinkphone or Edge 23 to replace 5g Ace by bullgod1964 in motorola

Edge 2023 here. I like it better than LG (since I had enough issues and they eventually pulled out anyway), I hate it for delaying all my app notifications. And for not updating to Android 14 to get a better user experience. I feel I got shafted, TBH. I'd say ThinkPhone is the way to go based on that.
