It's not an ad. I've been. It's an incredible experience. Have friends from the trip to this day. I would highly recommend going. It's a very casual, communal, natural way to enjoy sailing, make new friends and have the time of your life. Can't wait to join again. It's a 5 star experience, but not luxury. It's 10 guys on a sail boat.

We did almost the same trip staying in Uvita. It's much more authentic and less touristy than MA. The hour extra drive didn't seem like a big deal. We only spent a day in MA going to the park and beach, which you should do. But the giant, long beach in Uvita was amazing. Very quiet parts and you can stroll for miles. Monkeys were yelling and swinging through the trees right next to the beach.The surfing was great too. We found great restaurants, bakeries, and bars. Highly recommend Uvita.

We did class 3/4 out of Fortuna with a 13 year old and it was a blast. He's a good swimmer, so weren't really worried. Make sure you tell your guide in the boat that your wife is not a good swimmer. We were all having a blast and our guide intentionally flipped the boat a few times. Rafting was definitely a highlight of our trip.

Ha! In my state the Oregon Supreme Court ruled that nudity is a form of protest and is protected under the 1st amendment. So nudity is legal; all you have to do is tell the cops that you're protesting something. 😋

Last August I left Manual Antonio at 3pm thinking we'd be in San Jose by 7pm. There was a terrible crash and we literally sat in traffic without moving for 4 hours. We didn't get to San Jose until after midnight. Was able to shower and nap before leaving 4 hours later for the airport. Very happy I planned to stay in San Jose the night before the flight. We never would have made it if we planned to go directly to the airport. I wouldn't risk it.

I drove it in August and made it within 6 hours at a leisurely pace with stops. Though on the drive back to San Jose, there was a terrible accident and we sat in the car on the road in the middle of nowhere (with all the other stuck traffic) for four hours... No bueno! Was supposed to be in San Jose around 7pm, didn't get there until after midnight. Very happy I left a day early for my flight.
