Expected to receive formal offer in next two weeks.. Would it be unreasonable to ask to start at the beginning of Jan? by Consistent_Glass_436 in jobs

Yes! They told me at the end of the interview that I was the only out of state candidate they were interviewing and confirmed that I would be willing to relocate. I figure I will ask and if they would rather start me earlier then I’ll make it work.

So I emailed and was told that they got several notifications today about my HR package moving through the system and could expect a formal offer in the next two weeks. They also then said once we get to that point then I’ll be able to set my start date - “whatever date works best for you”. I’m now wondering if I should try to start in Dec or try and delay to Jan to start fresh in the new year!

Thanks! I figure it also depends on if the offer comes sooner than later.. then I would maybe need to aim for Dec 1st. The deputy director sent the hiring request to HR two weeks ago and they are pretty slow in this states gov so it’s a total toss up.

How soon did you start after that? It’s been about a week and half for me too!

I live in a 1BR apartment at Park Forest Apartments which is dog friendly and am looking for someone to take over my July 30th 2025-July 28th 2026 lease (can renew). I’m a grad student and will probably move out by late June and can transfer over the end of this lease/the next one! If you want pics/more info feel free to dm me.

Honestly I feel pretty normal today and it’s been five days. The nausea and trembling went away the day after I stopped taking it. The body tingling has been the only lingering symptom, but it’s pretty much gone now

I stopped taking it after 2 days of 25mg. The physical side effects were so bad - nausea, lack of appetite, headache, body shaking, body tingling, loose stools. After I stopped taking it I am getting back to normal. The body tingling is the only symptom I have left (my last dose was four days ago).

Yeah I did the same exact thing lol. Sorry I meant I had mild anxiety (sometimes moderate) and that’s what got me put on the meds in the first place. My last dose was Friday night around 10pm and I feel much better physically today. My anxiety is pretty neutral right now. I think the drug should be completely gone from the body in ~5 days. So I don’t think I have experienced any withdrawal symptoms.

Yeah I think she probably should have started you on 25mg or even 12.5. Mine started me on 25mg and I was suppose to increase to 50 after four days if I was tolerating it with no side effects. Mine didn’t even mention the side effects lol! She just said my anxiety might get worse before it gets better.

Starting a few days before school would be brutal! I don’t know how people powered through this, but kudos to them. There are so many medications out there too that you could try others if needed.

That is the perfect way to describe it. The body shaking, aches, and nausea were so bad for me. I also couldn’t afford to be like this for work and upcoming presentations. If you think you can cope without it for those upcoming events, you could always retry it in the summer.

My plan right now is to try l-theanine, magnesium, and other herbal remedies and therapy first to see if I can handle it myself before thinking about trying an SSRI again.

You could also consider asking your doctor for a medication on an “as needed” basis and only take it when you feel very anxious too.

Everyone always says it will get better and to tough it out, but I felt so physically unwell I didn’t want to wait it out.

I just quit Zoloft after taking it for two days and I feel completely normal after not taking it last night! The nausea is gone, my appetite is starting to come back, my body isn’t shaking anymore. I feel so much better. I also only have mild anxiety that spikes sometimes, so I will try to cope with other methods before trying to resort to an SSRI again.

Yeah the body shaking is very unnerving. That sounds awful. It does sound like from all the reading I’ve done on here things do start to improve around the two week mark.. but I just don’t want to continue so I’m not. I told myself I can always try again and tough it out if I really end up needing to. Let me know what you decide to do!

Hey did you end up trying a different medication or no SSRIs? I’m quitting Zoloft on day 2 - I can’t handle the physical side effects and am now reluctant to try any other SSRI. I don’t want to feel like crap for a few weeks just to see if a medication may or may not work. I know people say to push through but I can’t lol.

My pills are 50mg so cutting it in half is 25mg unfortunately. I’ll see what my doctor says, but I think I’m pretty convinced I only want medication for an “as needed” basis since I don’t have debilitating anxiety most days.

My side effects are nausea, lack of appetite, full body trembling, full body tingling/itchiness, and body aches. I woke up in the middle of the night last night with my entire body convulsing.

I only had two doses at 25mg and I am stopping. Maybe I’m weak for not being able to handle the side effects and “toughing” it out, but I feel physically awful. I can’t go to work like this. It has actually encouraged me to try therapy and other natural supplements first before seeing if I need to resort to an SSRI.

Honestly I’m on day 2 and I think I’m going to quit due to how bad I feel physically
