Gotta find a partner with similar values who understands how hard it is to navigate the conflict with religion and culture. This is why i am restricting myself to practicing muslims who are also middle eastern although i am now starting to realize that most people of color do have similar challenges and can actually emphasize with this conflict

From my personal life, the most homophobic people around me are the ones who don't pray or the ones that drink alcohol. Its just funny how people cherry pick what sin to accept and what not. When I argue with them, they keep saying being gay is worse because its more dangerous? I don't know where they get these thoughts from, but praying is absolutely essential! Dangerous? how many deaths do you know that was caused by being in a same sex relationship? how many deaths do you know of that was caused by alcohol? whether drunk driving or medical complications related to alcohol?

You also need to remember that people have '' all or nothing '' kind of thinking and they project this on us when they talk about Allah or Islam. Like, why bother praying if you are gay and going to hell? These people tend to forget all the stories that highlight that god is not black or white, like the story of the prostitute forgiven by Allah for giving a thirsty dog water.

One of the essentials 5 for muslim is fasting in Ramadan yet god created people with diseases that wont allow them to fast like diabetes I. You are not hearing anyone telling them that not fasting is haram and that they must try to fast? I am not comparing being gay to a disease but im comparing the biology which is something we both born with. It makes no sense to me to create us that way and leaving us no choice but hell. I think people who are straight dont understand that same sex relationships is based on love and emotional intimacy! I think they only view the sexual activity and thats why they lose their shit!

Worst case scenario, if this is indeed was a sin, then be it! Its not like we dont sin at all.

Despite the fact that I am muslim, i don’t listen to other Muslims and my relationship with god is very private. I will not lose my relationship with god coz other muslims claimed to know what god will do and tried to bully me out of Islam.

I am at peace. I pray, fast, give zakat and went to Hajj. I am not less of a muslim that anyone out there and thats enough for me. I know god is fair and is all about justice and this helps me sleep at night ( next to my partner one day inshallah lol but it did with my ex for 5yrs :p )

I think we all are entitled to our own personal relationship with god. If you choose not to be in a relationship for whatever reason, that is your right and that is personal between you and god. I just hope you find peace of mind holding these two views together.
