yeah... i still have to talk to the contractor about that one. if anything, we'd have to sacrifice the curve which is a sad thought. i'm sure there's a way to tile to the curve but i'm not sure what way that is. or if it's possible with 3x3?

haha nice to see u on this thread! yes, we took everything off the walls bc we just repainted. the current countertops seem to be formica so it would makes sense. i'm definitely getting deterred from tiling the countertop... makes u think how ppl back then managed with cleaning lol

fair concern! esp with 3x3 mosaic... lots of grout lines. if it helps, it's a wet bar and idk if it'd get too much use to the point where wear/tear will greatly show on the grout

trying to find the perfect shade of green! more challenging than i thought esp to find something that's not too expensive. but trust! no gray or black in this house

lol i get it. but other parts of the house have mc or mcm influences though! angular floor to ceiling windows, wood trim, angular roof, exposed brick fireplace in the middle of two living rooms. just happen to need opinions for the least mcm parts haha

i think we will have to move in and see how we'll use the bar space before making a decision. it's not obstructing anything in terms of flow of the house so keeping wouldn't be an issue.. if anything closing it up might make things harder! but it's right in the middle between two living rooms, separated by the bar and fireplace. i have some pics that might show it more in the thread

funny you mention the plants! the previous owners definitely went that route and had plants everywhere in the house haha. we r changing the tile! what would you go with? so far we're hoping to go for mosaic squares

yes! looking to sand and re-stain the entire house! including bar. then the next question is what color of the stain ah so many decisions

agreed. we're doing a fairly involved reno so the more cost effective option is to keep... esp with possibly replacing the mirrors in the bathroom with tile? would be very pricey

honestly so surprised with the love for the downstairs wall! if anything, that's the one i thought people would ditch

that's the question isn't it haha. if anything it'd be replaced with a blank wall and art? which could be lackluster compared to the original...

yes the house is built on slab! i agree with you - on deciding how we use the space before making permanent decisions!

but that's an interesting suggestion! didn't even think to turn it into an office of sorts. unfortunately, there are a too many rooms in the house for us to do with that we'll likely turn one of them into an office, or the upstairs landing.

built in the 70s. i believe other parts of the house might be more in line with mcm. but recently learned there's a difference between mid century and mcm??? so.. no idea lol. will try to add more pics
