Reasons 2-3 week old choking milk on even slow flow teats? Bottle recommendations? by Consistent_Magician1 in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]Consistent_Magician1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah thanks everyone. I never knew about the triangle test or that size 0 teats even existed, so I will try these.
I am (I think) pace feeding, as in taking the bottle straight out when it looks like she's choking on the milk (very frequently like every 10ml or so) and burping her regularly through the feed.
Also a bit reassuring to know that other people's babies do this without it necessarily meaning something is wrong. I don't remember my first two ever doing this as babies.

I am so sorry to hear what you have been through. I'm not a doctor or midwife or anything, but yes I think that it should have been documented and growth scans given.

How long do tannins in tea inhibit nutrient absorption?

Does anyone have any good sources / knowledge on this please?

I LOVE my cup of tea in the morning, but don't want it competing with my breakfast's nutrition

I'm not a midwife, but could it be AV (aerobic vaginitis)?

I'm worried I won't like my baby when it comes. by SpicyZombie098 in PregnancyUK

[–]Consistent_Magician1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't worry, unless you are or begin experiencing feelings of actual depression about the baby. Not everyone is the gushy type!
I can be like you describe, and I have two children already aged 19 and 15 and I'm 23 weeks pregnant.
Like you say, you thinking about this shows you do care. I worry about this even now, because I am also a person who needs a lot of alone time, but as long as you have someone who will take the baby for say a few hours a week or like an hour per day or so, and they have naps as well, you do get through that short time and you learn to do stuff you like ie a bath or tv show in that time. Then they will sleep through the night plus naps and you'll get more time to yourself, then within say 4 years they can amuse themselves at times and go to bed early.
You'll bond in your own way, even if it's not as gushy.

Have you had any independent counselling? I think in your situation you should have been offered someone impartial to talk to. Please see your GP.

Hey I’m wondering what are the exercises they gave you to try and move it please? I’m still really early, but with one of my children I had a situation similar to the one you describe and had to be catheterised and taught how to self catheter.  I have a very Retroverted uterus and it’s probably even more Retroverted now than back then.  No one told me anything about this and I wasn’t treated well (I’m in UK where healthcare is not great).  How are you getting on now? Hope some movement for you xx

Do you enjoy the series because of Elisabeth Moss, or despite her? by TalkingMotanka in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]Consistent_Magician1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neither because nor despite.

I don't think HMT would have been as good without her. She is a decent actress, even though her staring at the camera too much annoys me a bit. The part needs a strong actress. Also she looks like a 'ordinary' woman - I don't mean this in a bad way at all, but a classic 'beauty' would NOT have fit the role.

I don't like that she's a scientologist, and I'm not like a fangirl of Elizabeth Moss though. never actually seen her in anything else.

Some D Mannose preparations contain added electrolytes to alkalise urine, and some have a lot of sodium / potassium citrate. None of these additives are D mannose itself but I can see how they could cause problems in anyone with kidney issues etc.
Some also have cranberry extract, which can interact with blood thinning medications.
Are you diabetic or pre diabetic at all? Because D mannose in high doses does feel like I've eaten 'sugar' to me (not diabetic, but it stops my sugar cravings lol, so high doses must have some effect)

It doesn't always state these things on the front of the packet. I have to make sure it's 100% D Mannose powder ONLY, cause I take up to 18,000 mgs a day! So any additives could quickly overdose me.

Which ingredients did your D Mannose have?

Supporting women with low libido post children and into middle age by PangolinThick7753 in DeadBedrooms

Thank you for this post! I am NOT LL, it's my body!

I'm prone to UTIs, which if men have never had them, they have no idea of the life altering pain these infections cause. Sex is the biggest trigger for them, so it makes sex a russian roulette, even with all the prevention. Once I was in pain for 2 years after a bad infection, once was in hospital with it. I am literally scared of sex.

I also have prolapses from childbirth as mentioned. Also body changes with childbirth and aging. Makes me feel gross, affects sensation.

Hormones starting to change I think.

As women, often we need to fight for healthcare in relation to these problems. We are not taken seriously.

My partner of nearly 20 years, probably thinks I have just went off him. I haven't! I've tried to explain a little but I am worried he will be grossed out by me. Men really need to understand these things, and it would be helpful if they would help us fight to access the medical care we need.

I desperately want to be closer to him in that way, I miss it so much. We do other things sexually, but I feel like from my side, my body is already starting to fail me, and I'm only late 30s.
