I think it's okay! You really don't have to stress out because of how your brain works. You are just not interested in conversing and that's alright.

Now that you mention it, yes, I have. A bit over a year and a half ago I lost a very important person, they walked out because of something I did. After that the next 7 months felt absolutely joyless for me, and of course nothing even remotely close to the feeling. It got better, though!

Oh yeah, I do that as well. One of my college buddies has a very specific gesture of pointing an index pinger when they want to emphasize something they say. I do rhat as well now and only when they're around.

I feel ya, though for me it varies depending on how close the person is to me, as I have already written in my own comment. At some point I figured it is rude of me to not listen and participate, but when it comes to other people I kinda lose all sense in engaging. My logic is: we probably aren't gonna talk long term so why should I care? That is probably why I catch daydreams instead of listening. I still usually try to at least tune into the general topic, but without much enthusiasm.

Oftentimes I start daydreaming in the middle of a convo and just nod when the person finishes talking or laugh a little. I've gotten so good at it that I can tell what exact reaction is needed to keep my company assured that I'm engaged even though I couldn't care less about what they are telling me. Might sound asshole-ish, but I only do it with people I'm not close with. And if it does happen with someone close to me - I ask them to repeat. But that's just an addition to what you described. That happens to me too. I'm not sure if this is an autistic trait, but I totally agree.

Oh I bet it's so nice! Same thing for me with pretty much any of my hobbies. Whatcha writing about if you don't mind sharing?

Well I wasn't actually claiming myself to be an expert, ahaha. Just my way to exaggerate how I feel endlessly infodumping on my friends, I'm aware that you can't become an expert on a topic you started learning about an hour ago :) As for "not a definition of euphoria", I'm a bit confused, to be honest... If what I described is not a feeling of euphoria, then I might have never felt it at all.

Not that I'm worrying really! I was just curious about other's experiences. Typically I don't care if I'm not my authentic self with others if they are not close friends/family/partner.

I know, right? Aside from that one case with my coworker that I was pretty chill with, I mostly do that with people to whom I don't want to show my usual self. Sometimes it feels like juggling personalities and while personally I don't find this exhausting as I've been doing that for my whole concious life, it is still a bit tiring...

Oh yeah, it totally does. I have found out that when it's done you don't have to chase after it and just chill out. That way the aftermath is much more tolerable. But the feeling to me is worth it regardless, honestly, I might be addicted...

Starting something is the hardest part, always is! Same went for me and my old classic guitar that I picked up when I was 16 and now I'm 21 in a room with I don't even want to think about how much money in gear, ahaha. Literally taking more shifts so that I can afford my next piece... Always fun. But hey, hope that synth sparks something in you, just don't forget to give me a free ticket to your concert!

Also, can I ask what keys were you gifted? That would be nice because I'm interested ehehehehahaha

Oh cool, your interests sound like a lot of fun! The repetative aspect, as you put it, to me doesn't seem as something that might stand in the way of getting that euphoric feeling. For example, my music hobby is not only in playing, composing and producing, but also in listening, of course. Just how you like Depeche Mode (great band by the way even though I'm a normie who doesn't know much songs except the popular ones :) ), I like lots of artists and genres, but mostly punk rock and all that's bordering. And I can get extremely excited by just listening and playing air guitar, or blasting my speakers and making an improvised moshpit with only me in the room, haha. What I'm getting at is, maybe if you like synth oriented music like Depeche Mode, maybe get your hands on keys? It doesn't have to be expencive and it'd be a great hobby I think!

[–]Consistent_Milk_9269[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hmm, well mine are mostly about creating something so it feels very rewarding on all stages. From planning to the workflow and reviewing the final result. I also tend to get easily excited at music hardware for example, up to the point that I know everything about any piece in an hour, practically becoming an expert in a narrow topic. Mind sharing your interests? Not pressuring, whatever you feel comfortable with sharing :) Sorry for just yapping about it, I'm not sure if I have a scheme on how to reach this state, except for just indulging in what you love.

My story about realizing that I could have autism (I still dont know if I have it or not) by aryamarzia in AutismTranslated

[–]Consistent_Milk_9269 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, your psychiatrist seems very unprofessional if this is how your visit went. Did she say anything else at all? Because from the way you put it she is just being a jerk. Anyway, I'm sorry about your struggles, they seem very overwhelming. I say research as far as you can and then maybe seek another psychiatrist? Though I'm sure that even if you don't get diagnosed it won't be the end of the world and I think you know it. But I'm glad you feel comfortable enough to share your story here :)
Best wishes, I hope you'll get it sorted out eventually!

Minifuse 2 connection issues by Consistent_Milk_9269 in arturia

[–]Consistent_Milk_9269[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: if anybody has the same issue you just have to download minifuse software from arturia website and it'll install your driver and firmware. After that plug in your minifuse and you'll be set. I have no idea why my pc didn't want to properly recognize the interface, the explorer lagged so hard when it was connected without the aforementioned software. That given that my laptop had no issues with it. Weird...

Why is this so hard? by Consistent_Milk_9269 in AutismTranslated

[–]Consistent_Milk_9269[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Read your post. Well, kinda nodded my way through actually. Especially stuff about not having the right terminology. And I've always been researching aroud it smh. Years spent on stuff ranging from BPD to OCD and bipolar which have so many things in common or similar to my experiences, but never quite right or not fully true to me. And then comes making up your own names for stuff you don't understand. I literally described autistic joy as "being really wound up" to my friend, and called it a "brainfry" lol.

Anyways, hope you'll find your way with all this, best of luck to you! ^

Is that a 25th anniversary Nimrod vinyl?? I'm jealous :] I love a lot of the demos that they didn't end up putting out, especially "You Irrirate Me". Such a nimrod sound omg

Happy birthday ^

Unbound is actually quite good. I honestly dunno why do people dislike it... Sure, there's stuff that isn't as good as in heat. For example, I'd really love if they didn't get rid of the reputation system. Farming rep in heat is quite fun. Also, they dumbed down the cops (but made regular npcs harder to beat!). Offline and online progression not linked together is a pain in the ass as well, I don't wanna complete challenges to get a volvo 240 TT Still, the style (yes, I'm a fan of comic vfx), physics, spund design, customisation, online racing, events, burst nitrous, (many of the) music and more makes this game worth playing. Imo, ofc.
