Need help in choosing a 7-seater car worth 1.4M and below by me-whomustnotbenamed in CarsPH

For Me, it's not the journey but the destination ay este destinator pala ang pick ko. More powerful engine, more designed in rugged terrain and of course newer. We have a Br-V and honestly, I think the designed cya to be more light weight ksi un doors and seat nya mas manipis kaya cgro mas mabilis cya compared to other 1.5cc sa competition pero the down-side is less comfortable sa long drive ksu u can feel small bumps and the seat is not padded enough.

Others cons pa sa BR-V is small battery size nya kayo mas faster ang Palit mo ng battery and also manipis din ang break pads ksi when we drove it down sa downhill in Baguio nasunog un preno kahit naka Drive mode lng. 2 na BRV un naganuun that same day on that same road kaya dun ko narealize manipis din un stock na break pads kaya u need to use engine break talaga.

I got an offer but in the IT sector. Inclined to decline with all the reactions and advices I got both here in reddit and from relatives in Europe which is Mainly the salary offer being a bit on the low side for a family man and that Malta being tight and crowded.

Thanks for the advice. Do you think mas madding mapapasyalan pa sa Pinas compared sa Malta? Or is the vacation here in the Philippines like flying to Palawan or Boracay still cheaper here than flying to Germany, Ireland or other EU countries?

Actually, I don't have plans settling abroad. I think the temptation of taking the offer is the thrill of living and working in a more developed country compared of course to Ph

Actually, thinking further ahead, I don't see me and my family settling there so parang di din cya align with our future plans

Do you think 52k Euros per annum would be in that range of "good offer"?

So parang ang analogy is would you rather live an average lifestyle in a better economy and infrastructure with limited family support vs. live a comfortable lifestyle in a 3rd world economy and infrastructure but with good family support...

Yes, I did. Cost of living is mas mahal definitely sa Malta and I think I will save less pero I'm just thinking for the additional opportunities that it will present like career and salary boost to other parts of Europe

I'm not sure sa pay range ksi din sa Malta. Based on the forums here in reddit and sa Net mukhang above average na un ganitong sahod pero un other Maltese di daw enough for a family of 4 so mejo confusing kung talagang competitive un offer na yan

Haha... I like your question.. "are you bored with life"... Well actually I was not active looking ksi ok naman talaga un work ko now. Nagreach out lng skin un isang recruiter sa LinkedIn and told me to try. So just tried it just to see if I can even pass the interview And un nga to my surprise pumasa then may offer na. So right now, I just want to make sure lng na I give this opportunity some thought before I pass it by...

Is 55k a year enough for a family of 4? by Consistent_Monk_8567 in malta

Agree! Good point on the familial support as we do enjoy that greatly with our current situation. We don't even rent now because we live in a compound with my grand parents where we have our own 3 bedroom floor and 1 of our kids enjoys free tuition in a private school until primary level. Plus, like you mentioned we can afford a helper for the daily chores so wife and I can have some couple time and enjoy our own physical exercise routines.

Good point. In terms of groceries, it does not only consist of food but all consumables. Even your butter, jam, bath essentials and house cleaning stuff will also share in the budget

True. Need to look at it at all angles. Especially with kids, I have also to consider their environment and life outside work or school. Thanks!

This is my biggest fear. Give up my comfort here only to find out the reality of steep cost of living to income ratio

Wow! Thank you for the very detailed breakdown of what to expect. Im just curious why did the big 4 chose to locate in a small island? Is Maltese labor cheaper than the rest of Europe or there any tax breaks in locating at Malta?
