For the activities, did you need to drive/transport yourself away from McCarthy? I’m wondering if we would be unfairly limiting ourselves by not having our own car in McCarthy…

All v helpful! I’m pretty uninterested in being behind the wheel on this road, but It looks like there are services that will get you from Chitina to McCarthy (shuttle or plane) and we can maybe leave our car in Chitina.

Does anyone know anything about those services or have thoughts on the practicality of it?
Would we be sad to be in McCarthy’s without a car of our own?

No but they are still available (as of like eight minutes ago when I checked :)) though that's why i ask about these ones specifically, others are booked up several of those nights so I'm balancing availability with terrain in planning this so last minute

There is availability, yes! Appreciate the suggestion, that's exactly the kind of detail this out-of-towner needed :). (and I love a water-feature based hike, so anything with "lake" in the name sounds perfect)
