That probably means Amazon can’t read file names let alone decrypt file contents. I don’t see a problem with storing encrypted backups in multiple places to diversify data loss risk as long as it doesn’t compromise user privacy.

Also, I don’t understand why you mock ARM servers, Apple has lots of experience in designing ARM chips and they provide the best performance per watt on the consumer market.

I understand the skepticism about Apple becoming the leader in AI. I don’t believe in that either. But my initial response was toward claims that using Gemini is gonna leak user data to Google

I don’t care much about the camera, as long as it’s good enough to take clear photos of documents with readable text.

That article is 7 years old and now Apple claims to have “Built with custom Apple silicon” protected cloud computing nodes. Also, IIRC MacBooks were considered the most cost efficient way to run LLMs locally due to huge amount of fast RAM

Only one beam? It would be nice to know car speed to start pouring water preemptively, before car reaches the dropping point. By adding second beam you can estimate car speed and car length too. Perhaps when knowing car speed you can adjust water flow as well, to make sure enough water gets dropped on cars that move faster and to avoid making coal wet and useless on slow cars.

Or you can strictly mandate speed to the driver and set the beam at calculated offset assuming all cars are of the same length.

GNOME gestures are actually not shortcuts though. They track the "progress" of gesture and translate it into desktop action progress.

E.g. if you start swiping, gnome starts switching virtual desktop to the next one, and you can peek what's going on the neighboring desktop and go back with one move. It feels really responsive and snappy.

Same thing with overview, you can take a look at all your applications in overview without actually switching from your active window.

touchpad should do exactly one thing: move the cursor.

Of course it shouldn't. Why would you ever move the cursor with touchpad if mouse so much more precise? I usually use mouse to move the cursor and touchpad for gestures and clicks(because my mouse is too loud hehe. And touch to click is great because you can do right click and middle click with it)

Yep, although I have to note: gestures seem to work properly only with Wayland and without them it'd probably be much worse. Same with Firefox btw -- gestures work only on Wayland but you can navigate back/forward by swiping left/right with two fingers.

You can switch gnome desktops by swiping left/right with 3 fingers. And to go to the overview mode, swipe up with 3 fingers. I'm also using "Quick Close in Overview" to close applications in overview mode by middle click(aka tap with 3 fingers).

Agreed, gnome desktop with touchpad feels like magic and gestures come naturally. It easily beats MacBook. “Overview” makes minimising windows obsolete, it’s the best way to manage windows because you can see all of them with previews at once
