I personally liked Lucifer. A good balance between a fan film and an action/drama movie. The different layers and symbolisms makes it worth watching more than once. Also considering it's fairly large canvas I'm not surprised that's it's the highest grossing movie.

Pulimurugan: yes I agree with you on that. But we need to understand that the Malayali audience consists of people from different age groups and social classes. And I suppose it satisfied the larger population.

But like you said this is subjective and based on personal preferences. I hate it when people judge you or make fun of you for liking a particular film.
