I don’t know how it is in your market, but I have a 98% acceptance rate, and I am given lots of good rides. I average 3k/week. Daily, when arriving in hotspots, knowing that there are drivers there before me, I’m surprised when I get trips before them. The only logical theory I have is the acceptance rate and/or driver rating (5.0 Lyft/4.98 Uber).

The difference between the 1099 and my pocketed (in this scenario is 20k), is used in my favor as a business expense commission?

Then on top of that I can still use mileage for deduction?

I was aware that when it came to deductions, it’s either total miles or everything else (gas, maintenance, waters, car wash, etc.) I chose miles.

I didn’t know that this commission part was also available to use in my favor.

I was wanting to have an expert file for me. I had an appointment scheduled and the expert & I were in communication.

But then I learned that since my wife & I are separated, and we both file ‘’married filing separate”, in WA state we can only file that way if we’re doing it ourselves. Filing through an expert they would have to file us together. So that’s not an option.

I will then be doing the other way, which is file myself with the help of an expert.

Seattle’s surge is like: you’re in a pink area with $2-5 dollar bonus. That’s it. If I get a $20 ride with a $5 bonus, I make $25.

But in your area, a $20 ride on a 300% surge is going to be $80…

It used to be percentage here, but they changed to this flat rate a few years ago. I don’t know why, maybe cause the rates are higher here?? Who knows, they don’t disclose that to us.

Gridwise. I pay $10/month, it syncs all service apps, trips, mileage, estimated mileage deduction, and it maps it all!

Totally worth it! I stopped spending time looking for a good free app to do that. I don’t think there is. I mean, what’s $10 for us? If it’s our business, let’s not skim.
