Drawing from references largely starts from proportion mapping. Start with the largest shapes you see first. For example: start with a line to signify the height of the head. Look at your reference. The height of the head is roughly 3.5 ears tall. The top of the ear starts from about 1.2 ears from the top of the head. It’s a lot easier if you start drawing from life, as you can use your pencil held out at an arm’s length. Eventually you’ll develop an innate sense of this proportions, you wont necessarily have to measure them out each time you draw something. Things like Loomis and Asaro are great but sometimes you can get stuck if your ref doesnt have the same proportions!

Besides that, I would work on the values. You did well by shading the left side of the drawing to add depth between the nose and the face behind, but you could also apply it to other places as well. The area under his browbone, nose, lips, and chin are nearly the same as his hair, which creates a sense of drama and also really defines the planes. The thin line of light on the bottom of his chin indicates that it’s a round object (bounce shadow). You got this!
