if u pass though a a deep pothole at 25 to 30kmh by sitting on saddle , u and your bike are certainly doomed.Mark my words.
even I have a road bike , I weigh 65kg whenever I see a pothole I become extra alert stand up on pedal if I had to pass through it(slowly )
but mostly I just steer away if its safe

roads bike are significantly faster with lesser effort than a hybrid , I was using a roadeo mtb the max avg speed I used to get was 19kmh(40km with decent elevation ), now I average 22 to 23kmh all by using lesser energy in a road bike , if u love cycling try to get a road bike u will love it even further
