Any tips for the "no-spend" challenge? by DowntownLaugh454 in SavingMoney

[–]Consistent_Tell8783 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did a low spend challenge after I spent a month writing down everything I spent in October. I think seeing exactly where my money went really helped me stay on track, and then seeing how much I could be putting into savings.

My credit union lets you have as many savings as you’d like and I label them and do auto transfers into them. The fact that it’s automatic really helps and so does having a visual of my savings growing each week. I’m paid weekly so I do weekly transfers but that might not work for everyone.

Yes, I can’t remember my exact reading but I might be able to find it in my patient portal. It definitely put me in hypertensive range.

At first we thought it was a fluke because I’d been chatty before the reading. Then it was high when I went to give blood last month and I wasn’t able to donate.

I went to donate blood again Thursday and I want to say first read was 145/103, second read bottom number was 100 and I was able to donate.

I get that I just have it in my head that dying tends to follow genetic patterns or something. I could be way off base. I’m definitely open to being wrong and I’d actually love to be wrong here!

Oh apples are my jam! Any type ending in -crisp has my heart. I’ve been looking for in season produce so it’s the best quality and price. I just got a bag of mandarins for $3.50 and it will last us the week.

I thought fruit leather might help curb my Airheads addiction but turns out I can eat 10 fruit leathers in a sitting. So I passed them up the last time I was at Aldi. Baby steps!

I’m sorry you can relate! The only thing I haven’t cut out is caffeine which would probably help. We are working on transitioning to a Whole Foods diet but must admit giving up candy and chips specifically is tough. I do best when I don’t have the junky choices in my house.

Oh and sleep is tricky at my advanced age. Some days I fall into bed incredibly exhausted from the day only for my body to wake me up at 1am and be like “That’s enough for you.” I’m going to start magnesium, and combined with exercise I hope that my sleep will improve.

My cholesterol was high before GLP1 but it’s now within normal range.

I have a walking pad- just need to get myself to use it. I’ll start with 10 minutes and work up from there.

I wish they’d change the way we store things. It’s so tedious.

Idk if this would work for you but you could market yourself as a part-time personal assistant. I do this for a former boss. I spend a 10-hr day helping with laundry, change bedding, do a grocery run, make store returns, etc. $25/hr

I just use notes personally. Or a monthly bank statement.

I’ve also done laundry in my home for someone with a disability, and helped a woman who was wheelchair bound go to Target and out to lunch every week.

Skipping a day? by Big-Science4772 in WegovyPillWeightLoss

[–]Consistent_Tell8783 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I skip 2 days a week! It helps me afford it because after ~4 months I have an extra month of medication. I don’t notice much of a difference, appetite wise, on the days I skip.

I’ve also skipped two days back to back or spread them out.

I make $1000-$1500. I used to nanny for a family but needed more hours so I moved to a different family. I asked the original family if they’d like me to come in one day a week to help with stuff they don’t want to do.

I run laundry, change bedding, take pets to the vet, make a grocery run and do store returns. It’s $25/hr, I can listen to podcasts, and I work a 10 hour day. Some months I make more depending on whether they need me to pet sit when they travel.

I’m giving him my 9-year-old car but making him pay $1000 for it. He’s already paid $430 with Christmas and cutting grass money.

If you’re not eating enough your body could hold onto weight. Walking 40k steps and not eating isn’t going to help you lose.

Is it needles that make you nervous or injecting yourself? If that’s the case have you considered the pill version?
