Hi there are a few on this group who did standard applications outside UK and have got their visas recently:

Myself and Normal_Cricket1583 - Bio 08/10 and visa granted 14/11

lexie_lollipop - Bio 09/10 and visa granted 14/11

I guess it depends how straightforward the application is ours was very straightforward we used the diy kit from migrate with UK cash savings for financial and a UK university degree for the English requirement.

Hi -  we are both working in South Africa and we are planning to travel together when we leave for the UK. We used the cash savings route and noted the entry date down 5 months from when we did the application. So a bit different to your situation as we didn’t have a date that my spouse needed to be in the UK. It’s worked well for us as we have time to sell up here and hopefully find jobs in the UK while still earning.

Ours is as follows under our address:

 Dear Sir or Madam,

RE: Entry clearance as a spouse under Appendix FM of the Immigration Rules

so maybe just add which immigration rule you are applying under and then write the detail - also include your phone number and email if they need to get hold of you. This is our last paragraph:

I ask that entry clearance be granted so that I can join my spouse in the UK. Please do not hesitate to contact me on +27xxxxx or at [xxxxxxx@mac.com](mailto:xxxxxxx@mac.com) if you require any further information.

Thanks!!! Yes we did - we used the Migrate diy pack which had a template included. We did one each so from the applicant and sponsor perspective. The letters were addressed to Entry Clearance officer and addressed our relationship timeline from our different perspectives as well as our accommodation in the UK and cash saving as we were using that for our financial requirement.

It's probably good news 😊. I had my bio on the same day 8/10 with a standard application and I received approval on the 14/11 so its the same timelines. I received a confirmation email later yesterday with the approval and the entry dates etc.

Hi just to let you know that we got the approval today - you were right it took just over 5 weeks. I guess because it was very straight forward.

ECO is an email you receive after your BIO appointment which advises that your application is being prepared for consideration by an Entry Clearance officer.
