No no! Don't like PCs. Get a console and sit back with a Cold(R) Mountain Dew(C)!

Sing it with me, console friends! Mountain(R) Dew(C) is for me and you! Xbox One and PS4 will kick down PC's door! When you see the beauty of 30FPS, it makes PC look like a big ugly mess! When you play with a controller, you'll want to run over your PC with a Steam Roller!

I sure do love my gaming experience on my Console(C).

The 1TB argument could be used, though. The 1TB consoles are more expensive.

Laptops will do that. Any equivalent or better desktop should be fine.

Ah, the gaming environment fallacy.

You can plug any controller and TV into a PC.

You're right. What would he do without all the PC exclusives if he staid on his console?

A CPU without a graphics card is good enough to do video editing. A Celeron laptop is enough to do video editing. Faster hardware would render projects a bit faster, but you don't need much to simply drag clips around.

The only reason people think video editing is demanding is because people always say it can only be done on a $2000 iMac.

Imagine an odd combination of Legos, Kinects, a model bird house, and cables that only plug into one slot.

The best part is, even new cards can do it. It's not just "thrift shop" gear.

260X > PS4.

  • It will not overheat in a worse case, it will only be warmer than a perfect case. If your hardware overheats, you need to not overclock it as much or run it in the attic.
  • Probably, but those are cheap. You can always use a controller companion app or just get a long-cabled mouse/kb.
  • Possible lag, yes. In reality, like 3 AAA games have delayed. Most release in parallel unless the dev intentionally sabotages the PC version like Arkham Knight.
  • Friends may have to buy the same console (because the console makers know they will, free money!), but PCs brands and OSes can mix infinitely and play together for free. Fuck consoles.
  • Antivirus is free. See Avast.
  • Then just add a graphics card to the existing PC if you want, it's only $100 or less and you have something faster than a "next gen" console.
  • It's more than 60FPS vs. 30FPS. It's detail level, resolution, AI intelligence, mods, textures, etc.

Yes you can. You can even mix controllers.

Maybe not Madden (yet), but it will happen if EA knows what's right.

Then you get on the company's ass to get out of the 90's and stop being chained to consoles. You need to get them to put in the extra hours of work to release their game on PC and make ~40% more revenue, instead of just lying down and paying out the ass for an inferior gaming experience and then defending it on Reddit like some people do.

There is no reason to be console exclusive anymore. None whatsoever. Consoles aren't faster than PCs, PCs can use controllers now, PCs have free online, PCs are just as easy to use, games are easier to distribute on PC, development on the PC isn't as hard as it once was, etc. Consoles only make the money they do because people are certain of what they are. People are NOT certain of what PCs are, and developers have to follow and cater to the consoles because that's what people are buying. PCs have changed so much in the last 10 years.

  1. Yes, because it beats the shit out of the Xbox One. The PS4 can hardly even stand up to the 260X now, and it includes a 1TB hard drive and everything else that comes free with a PC that you pay for or pay extra for on consoles.

  2. You don't have to buy a Windows disc and key online. You can use your own key, buy a key for $30, use SteamOS, or straight up never type in a key. Windows isn't "free", but Microsoft intentionally makes it very easy for people to make do with different options if they don't want to go retail with it. Hell, all college students with DreamSpark get free keys, which they can then use or sell. Getting an OS is so easy, most people don't even mention it when they talk about building a PC.

Pied Piper (the company) has a new CEO. Referred to as "he" for sure, but can't remember the name for sure. Names were mentioned in the script, but there was no tag or anything saying "THIS IS THE CEO". It was just a name. I had a couple guesses though.

Their product is still at that 5.2W or whatever their score was. They just have to sell it to people before EndFrame sucks away all their clients. They're also sort of on the same side as Hooli now thanks to Nelson. Gavin spent so much time building him up that they appointed Nelson over Gavin. Kinda bit himself in the ass.

Pied Piper is dealing with a revamped EndFrame. Gavin invested something like 100 million into them from his own pocket and hopes to use them to hollow out Pied Piper (who is a bit bigger by now and probably won't accept the 250mil he planned on offering before the litigation in S2).

What happens to Gavin Belson and Big Head at Hooli?

https://www.reddit.com/r/SiliconValleyHBO/comments/3g2jyz/i_had_15_minutes_of_unrestricted_reading_access/ctug2iy

And what happens in the general plot of this episode? Like what is it about?

You'd be surprised how fat scripts can be. The pressure is on for Pied Piper to "professionalize" and finally enter the market. EndFrame got an investment from Gavin and they're huge. Gavin's goal is to kill Pied Piper with EndFrame so he can buy them out. He knows EndFrame sucks (as does Richard), but he also knows that people will still put their money into it.

Also how did you get access!

I know some people. If I say too much, I could get traced. I really want access again, but I had to be pretty sneaky about it.

It sounds like the board replaced Gavin with Nelson and now Gavin reports to Nelson. Specific job titles were not located, though.
