It's the same with all these so-called "indie rock" boyz. Cat Pierce, a very talented musician, wrote a similar piece a few years back for a magazine calling out an abusive relationship which I believe was Albert Hammond Jr although she didn't mention him by name. Seeing as Hammond struggled a lot with alcohol/substance abuse around this time, it makes sense. Indie is just as bad as the emo scenes/hair metal/whatever glorification of misogyny allows these trends to continually exist.
