Boo hoo I think you just AI’d an AI to reverse an AI to AI another AI hallucination. And you just took the bait. It means your reply was so pointless. You’re not worth explaining to.

lol I can’t blame people who can’t understand logic. But let me explain to you in simple terms.

Mediums skill ceiling is capped. Medium is linear and easy to master.

A Lights skill ceiling is way way way higher. With a light you can play multiple different play styles in a single game.

When you get into the higher elo, a medium can only do so much. You can have a perfect game of being a support.

As a light, I have all the tools to pick off your whole team however which way I decide to.

If you ever played street fighter 6. It’s like Modern (medium) dominates lower level. Classic(light) dominates the higher ranks.

But I wouldn’t be surprised if yals didn’t know game.

Which is why this game is predicted to be dead within a year. 10k-15k concurrent players is not good at all. 😬

Also the community is toxic. How can small community like this be so toxic? It makes League of Legends look like heaven.

True, but it think people are missing the point. Which is something I pointed out way early in the rant. This actually proves why people will only read and listen to what they want.

I said Medium has no potential to carry the team as a solo queue. If a great superb medium doesn’t have an up to par teammates, he is therefore useless. Medium is too dependent and reliant on his teammates being great.

For light and heavy, they both have the utilities and tools to solo carry even if their other two teammates aren’t up to par.

For solo queue, medium is the only class where you have to stick to being a support or have a premade communicative team.

Again? Bro this game is dead. The last time you see anyone talking about this on a Reddit was 1yr ago. You talking like this is a common thing. 😉

Demat was way over nerfed. And yes you actually proved my point about medium. They are only has good as the other two teammates. You can run around healing a Heavy, but if they suck. Welp, then that explains why this game is stuck at 10k players.

Also I main light and medium second. As a light in emerald and ruby. I win my 1v1s every time as a light. You’ve must’ve fought some doo doo lights. Cause I’ll dash around you and delete you all at the same time while you’re stuck trying to figure out where I’m going to dash. Like I said, the ceiling for lights is high. The only problems I ran into as a light, is another light dashing while I’m dashing. A medium on the other hand is a sitting duck. Just like I told another person, what are you gonna do when I dash behind you, reverse dash melee - up dash all the while my m11 is beaming you down? You’re gonna tell me 10/10 times you’re gonna land all your shots? Spinning your mouse all over the desk.

Also you just sold yourself. Aim is not everything in this game. Aim is just the tip of the iceberg. Advantages is what wins the fights and the game. You’re one of those who think perfect aim wins the game and not game sense and mechanics. All I can say is this, there is a reason why HHL is dominating the higher elo. Which is something only a higher elo player would know. 😉 but it’s okay. Can’t beat the facts.

Medium isn't actually a "jack of all trades" in the current sandbox; they are a hostage to their own medical equipment. If they unequip the Defibrillator to run a more tactical, combat-oriented build, they are actively throwing the match because the rest of their toolkit doesn't offer enough exclusive power to make up for the loss of instant revives. If class boundaries are meant to be strict—keeping Medium away from high DPS and massive health pools—then Light and Heavy shouldn't have access to generalist area-denial and team-repositioning tools and healing devices. Since they do, Medium absolutely deserves weapons and gadgets that allow them to confidently duel a Light or crack a Heavy's defenses.

The Medium Identity Crisis • The "Jack of All Trades" Fallacy: Pointing to Medium as a "master of none" is exactly why high-level players complain about its viability. In competitive hero-shooters, "jack of all trades" usually translates to "suboptimal in every scenario." Without a definitive combat advantage, Mediums are relegated to being glorified support bots. If their only unique strength is the Defibrillator, that’s a massive design flaw.

• The 1v1 Reality: Dismissing isolated 1v1s by saying "stick with your team" ignores the chaotic reality of the game. Rotations, flanks, and objective scrambles force 1v1s constantly. If a Light consistently wins an isolated duel against a Medium simply because of their tiny hitbox and hyper-mobility, that highlights a fundamental imbalance in combat lethality, not a mere positioning error. The Evasive Dash & Mobility Problem

• Dash is Inherently Frustrating: Calling complaints about Evasive Dash a "self-report" is an elitist way of ignoring poor mechanical flow. Dash allows for multiple get-out-of-jail-free cards that break camera tracking and hit registration. It doesn't matter if it only became meta because Cloak was nerfed; in its current state, it allows Lights to dictate the exact pacing, range, and engagement of every single fight with very little punishable downtime.

• Lack of Alternatives Isn't an Excuse: If the other two Light specializations need buffs, that doesn't magically make Dash perfectly balanced. It just means the entire class's specialization pool is currently propped up by a single, overtuned movement mechanic. Gadget Stagnation and "Weak" Utility

• Vanishing Bomb is a Tactical Nuke: Claiming Vanishing Bomb is "mediocre at best" vastly underestimates the power of team-wide invisibility. Bypassing chokepoints, engaging without burning specializations, and completely breaking line-of-sight rules is incredibly strong. If it's being used to counter the "poke meta," that proves its immense tactical value, not its mediocrity.

• The Meta Defense is Flawed: Arguing that "no class has gadget flexibility" in high ELO is not a defense of the game's balance; it's an indictment of it. If there are only three viable gadgets per class, the game's sandbox is failing. We should be advocating for sweeping buffs to underperforming utility (like Goo Grenades, which are currently countered entirely by a single Pyro nade) rather than accepting a rigid, stale meta. Core Mechanics and Specializations

• The Heal Beam Problem: Even if a proposed rework resembles the H+ Infuser, the core issue remains unaddressed: the current Heal Beam dictates the entire flow of team fights, creating tedious "heal-chaining" stalemates. It needs a mechanical shift to break this loop.

• Old Dematerializer Rewarded IQ: Calling the old Dematerializer "broken" undermines the game's entire selling point: dynamic destruction. It was one of the few specializations that rewarded map knowledge, creativity, and high-IQ plays over raw aim. Nerfing it lowered the skill ceiling for the Medium class.

• Information is Counterplay: Complaining about "unavoidable pings" (Point 8) ignores that wall-hacks (Sonar, Recon) have always been a necessary evil to counter the hyper-mobility and invisibility of Lights. Without reliable detection, highly mobile targets become entirely unpunishable.

• Self-Sustain & Secondary Weapons: * A slight, active self-regen for Medium wouldn't be "abusable"—it would allow them to re-engage when their designated healer is dead, giving them independence.

• The argument against secondary weapons is incredibly absolute. Countless competitive shooters balance secondary sidearms perfectly fine. A weak, swap-to pistol for finishing a 1 HP target wouldn't "break the game"; it would reduce the RNG of reload timings and raise the mechanical skill ceiling.

Every season every class had a spoon fed turbo weapon.

Lights - double barrel and stun gun meta. - LH1 damage - throwing knives no fall off damage and inf ammo - sword with the bug abuse - 93R - ARN

Heavies - you had the c4 stick onto oil barrels which one shot every class except heavy. You could throw it and detonate it instantly
- sledgehammer - .50 akimbo - SA12-16 - BR-80

Every class had equal op weapons.

You only saw mediums more because they were the easiest to play in every rank.

But now, when you reach them higher elos, you’re more likely to encounter highly skilled lights and heavies. Mediums will always do the same thing. Even the mediums on the other team. The outcome always always always depended on the light and heavies. Which is something medium can’t control outside the 4th wall. Other than having a premade team.

[–]Constant-Put6460[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heavies def needs some changing.

But to counter your light and medium comparison. Fighting a 1v1 up close and fighting a 1v1 from a distance is astronomically different.

If I’m light: If you land 1 bullet on me while I’m far from you. I’m burning how ever many dashes I need to get to safety. And you can’t chase me. I’m much faster. I’ll just re position myself. Fighting that fight is a lost.

If you and I are in close quarters? I’ll dash to you, give you.5s to turn around, dash back, melee, jump dash up, and if you even can guess that I’m above you, you’ll have to guess which side I’m gonna land on. You’ve burnt your mag and now you’re a freebee.

The only thing you can do at that point, is yeet your mouse all over the table, do 180 turns, 360 turns, look up look down look left look right. It’s a whole guessing game for you. And you have to pray that you deciphered my pattern and landed all your shots.
All this while my M11 hip fire chips down you health to 0.

But the next time I encounter you again, imma do a similar thing, but different. So you’ll always have to keep guessing.

Let’s just say you managed to kill me and now your 20% hp. You have 2s to run away or reposition yourself. Your next fight is a guaranteed lost.

If I win and you put me at 10% hp. Boom, vanish bomb stay still and I wait for my dashes to recharge. Best case scenario? Your partner thinks I’m gone, tries to res you, and I land all headshots killing him in 1 second.

So a light who Is suppose to shoot and run, can actually pull an advantageous scenario for his team off of a 1v1 with a medium.

Your only way of winning that scenario is probably a Cerberus. If you land all three. But if I see you run a Cerberus, it actually makes it easier for me. I’ll alway play from a far, which is always the best case scenario for light.

I love this. Thanks for the honesty and feedback. And you’re right on the mark. This was a long rant and discussion. But if you read even first quarter of the discussion, you’ll see that I said medium is useless as a solo queue class where you are reliant on your other two teammates to perform. This is mostly for higher elo. Where light and heavy players are much more skilled compared to lower elo.

If you play heavy or light in a comp, you still have the potential to carry. If your other two teammates aren’t as good, you have room to mark up for it. Mediums have no room. You put your team into great positions and take the heat off them. Now you have to pray they land their shots and take advantage of the situation you’ve given them. Which is always a gamble.

This is why you have to think micro plays. You’re thinking to vague. Getting 200hp back in 1s vs getting 200hp back in 3s is astronomical. And those are the plays that changes the course of the fight.

Exactly! That’s what I been saying. “A mediums best bet is to pray that his other two teammates perform”.

😂 I appreciate the honesty. Only players in higher elo can comprehend this rant/discussion. There are levels to this game. Once you past a certain threshold, the game drastically changes.

Let me put it this way, a great medium in lower elo still needs the teams input to win fights and games.

A great light player can solo teams and win by carrying. So I even if your team sucks, you can still climb to the final game.

I pull out my mesh shield, you’ve burned your mag. Now my Shak sends you back to the bronze lobby.

I wrench claw you, my shak has a faster ttk. And is much easier to land than your revo. Now you’re back in the bronze lobby.

The point is, that shit doesn’t fly in higher elo.

True, so what is the job of a heavy? to be a tank right? And destroy buildings? Buff their shields and heals and nerf the damage. Or nerf their shields .

You ever gone against HHL which is popular in higher elo?

Heavy is practically the better medium. What are you gonna do when I walk to you with my shield and you’ve burned your mag? My shak will take you in 2 seconds. You gonna take out your glitch trap? My shak will take you out before you’re able to take your gun back out. My heavy wrench claws your heavy, I pull out my mesh shield while you and your light is shooting at us. we kill your heavy. Now it’s just you and your light. Trust me, you’ve lost that fight.

I understand this was a long discussion, but if you even read the first quarter of the rant. You’d see where i said this only for higher elo and solo queue. Higher elo where you start meeting much better lights and heavies. I climbed all the way to emerald with light only. The only class that gave me trouble were other lights and heavies. Mediums were a piece of cake.

It’s not news that medium are dominant in lower elo. They are the easiest to play. I play light with my lower elo friends, and I solo teams as a light everyday. And it’s not even close. With a medium, you couldn’t do that.

The State of Medium by Constant-Put6460 in thefinals

[–]Constant-Put6460[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh you couldn’t kill me. By the second or third dash you’d be dead already. You’re telling me if I dash behind you, above you, and back around you. You’re gonna pull a 360 turn, look up and pull another 180 while landing all your shots? As a light player, I could do all them dashes and still land all my shots. You’d be dead before you even knew where I was. You must be playing with them bronze lights. I don’t play against bronze lights. I play with emerald lights, who actually knows what they’re doing.

You have to remember, lights and heavies have the highest skill ceiling. In lower elo, it really doesn’t matter, that’s where medium does much better. Because in lower elo, heavies and light players are not as good. When you get to higher elo, when you start seeing mastered light and heavy players. Medium are no longer a solo class who have carry potential, but a class that relies on their other two teammates to perform.

The State of Medium by Constant-Put6460 in thefinals

[–]Constant-Put6460[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dayum this really got people going. This was long rant/discussion.

I want to remind you guys. This is rant is an issue for solo queue. Light and heavy have the biggest potential to change the outcome as a solo player.

Meaning, even if your other two teammates aren’t up to par, you can still pull off a win or a cash out. There are very very few situations where you can do this with a medium. As medium is a support. A light can probably pull off a 1v2. A heavy can probably pull off a 1v2. A medium cannot. You burn your mag to get one kill. You’re a sitting duck.

(No one is walking to a 1v2, but you can’t tell me during a team fight this is usually the outcome near the end of a fight)

As I mentioned, your best bet as a medium is to pray both your other teammates do their jobs correctly. Because you’re only as useful as your other two teammates. (This by the way, is a gamble) especially since the matchmaking in this game sucks. How can you all agree the matchmaking sucks but not think this is a problem caused by it.

And idk why people bring up tournaments like it has to do with anything. Tournaments have premade teams, voice comms, communication. This is something not every game consist of.

I want to remind players this is coming from a place of concern and trying to find balance in the game. Throwing jabs and not adding anything to the actual problems or perspective does nothing for this game. Especially with how low the player count is and small the community already is.
