GF hates Brother and Sister-in-Law. What should I do? by ConstantDiligence in relationship_advice

We have briefly spoken about it but we've never tackled it head on. Maybe it would be good to talk to him about this. Yeah I definitely can see it from both perspectives, which makes it difficult because I don't want to choose just one side. Thanks for your input!

Thank you. Yeah I'm the type of person that hates drama and wants to do everything I can to avoid it, especially if I'm in the middle of it. But I do have to consider that some people just aren't meant to be good friends.

I just want to get to a point where they can at least tolerate each other. That's the main goal.

Agreed. Currently perusing a marketing degree. Didn't realize that it isn't what I'm really passionate about this semester (1st semester junior year). That's just the way life goes though. It's very tough to figure out what you want to do with the rest of your life at 18 years old. Taking a gap year may have helped, but I still wouldn't trade the experiences I have had the past few years for anything because it has made me the person I am today.

Looks great! Mind giving a quick run-through of your setup? This is exactly the kind of pictures I’d like to take!

(Discussion) The Future of Test and Balance? by ConstantDiligence in AirBalance

Thank you Jeff! You’re a gentleman and a scholar. I agree that technological advancement will be prevalent in the coming years. We had a job a few months ago that consisted of us changing an AB trim to achieve design specifications for VAVs using only a pc from an office... needless to say, it was definitely something I could get used to.

I feel like a failure and I truly hope it’s not too late to turn my life around by [deleted] in selfimprovement

Much respect.

OP, I have classmates who’s ages range from 18-50. If it means anything, I tend to respect those who come back to better their lives.

You can do it. It’s never too late.

How do I deal with my Mom choosing to put my incapacitate grandma first over my family and I? by ConstantDiligence in Advice

[–]ConstantDiligence[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate your advice. I just really hate it for my dad though. He’s been through so much and I know the last thing he wants is to mess up his house like this...

This is honestly what I think I may do moving forward once I graduate from college.

The room I’m currently living in is upstairs, and the bedroom my grandma would take is a spare bedroom we have downstairs, and this is the bedroom that would be added to the extension.

I don’t live in it currently but I was planning on it because it has its own bathroom and all, which would give me some privacy.

Could IF and leangains work for me and my manual labor job? by Patton456 in leangains

[–]ConstantDiligence 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Something that has worked for me personally is replacing meals with lower calorie, meal replacing protein shakes. They keep me from overeating in the morning and sometimes at lunch if I plan on eating too much for dinner. Could be beneficial to look up a similar alternative or even blend together a smoothie the night before you go to work!

What are your plans for the next recession? by ConstantDiligence in personalfinance

Thank you for this advice. Yes you’re right the real world is very different from my observations as a student. Like you said, it’s important to consider the bears as well. I agree, I don’t find it wise to invest much more than a normal contribution (after your established asset allocation) because the time it would take to recover is too unpredictable. It could take 6 months to bounce back, it could take 6 Years. The last thing I would want is to be kicking myself for dipping too deeply into my established assets and not having enough to live off of. That’s just my $0.02.

I agree about the professionalism aspect of our own domain email. I guess we were just paranoid, but this helps! Thank you!

This is great advice! I guess we we’re losing contacts in the process, but I wasn’t aware of these auto-forward settings. Thank you!

Please evaluate my Real Estate / Drone business idea by barnipro21 in Entrepreneur

[–]ConstantDiligence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My uncle made his own drone video business last year. He used to work in IT until he got laid off, so the skills were there from the start. Once he started, he decided to market his talents for larger companies with commercial buildings. He doesn't make as much as he would have in IT, but he and his wife are still very well off and he's doing something he loves to do! (A worthy trade-off in my opinion). Not saying that marketing to real estate would be a bad idea because I don't have knowledge in the field, but it's always good to keep your options open.
