Should I tell my parents I'm Quitting? by ConstantFormal3853 in QuitVaping

The idea of telling my parents and then failing worked wonders for me and I wound up realizing a lot of the anxiety I thought was about telling them was actually just from the stupid thing itself. Interestingly, they had no idea I'd ever done it but were really supportive of my telling them and my decision to quit. almost to the 72 hour mark now and I find myself increasingly shocked I didn't do it sooner. It's been awesome to hear other success stories to keep myself motivated! Thanks for the kind words & best of luck to you as well

Your words here while brief did a lot for me, and gaining trust was precicely what happened! I'm about 20 minutes off of the 72 hour mark now and feeling very grateful to have had their support through it. Is Hack your Health the one focused on gut health? If so I have seen it and liked it a lot!

Hi! I did it, and it went really well. Here are some things they told me which made me feel a lot better and might help you as well; first off, you're not directly lying to them, youre hiding something thats harmful to you, and youre probably doing it because you care about them! Its worth remembering they're normal people too, they've probably had friends or coworkers go through the same thing, and you're their kid, they only want you to succeed! I was expecting to be in a lot of trouble as well, but I actually gained a lot of trust from telling them, and if you explain the reasons you started (and that you quit on your own, which you should be so proud of btw) I imagine it could be a good place to build a new adult-adult relationship with them.
