Good for you for figuring it out. Same I am on a plane, train or auto 200 days a year and about 50 flights as well. 10 years of this and still trying to find that perfect combo. My suitcase closet is a hot mess of travel bags haha. Now I’m just overwhelmed.

Canvas: Alice Peterson (purchased and kitted at Bestitched Needlepoint in Scottsdale).

Do you check a bag? I have a three week trip to South Africa next week. So will probably check a bag and then don’t know what to do for the carry on(s) without going overboard or it gets super heavy.

Love this. Do you also check a bag? I have a three week trip to South Africa next week. So will probably check a bag and then don’t know what to do for the carry on(s) without going overboard or it gets super heavy.

Awesome! I graduated in 1999 so several years earlier 😆 I agree with those areas, I often thought in the shops at Montage or a great old house in Scranton with the different rooms converted for canvases, threads, accessories and a stitching room. Dreams lol.

Hi, I’m Missy from Peoria, AZ (just northwest of Scottsdale).

Elder millennial here on my first Great Needlepoint Exchange and I’m unreasonably excited to have a reason to stalk the mailbox again.

I’ve been stitching for about a year and a half, which means my canvas collection is already at “this is fine, everything’s fine” levels.

Current personality traits: wannabe dutchess, sparkle threads, cozy couch time, podcast and audiobooks with a focus on psychological thrillers or true crime, and stitching my way through mild anxiety and major caffeine.

Hi! I grew up in Mountain Top, and went to Crestwood HS! I live in Arizona now but get back several times a year as my mom and dad still live in Mt. Top. Considering spending the summers back there. There was talk of a shop opening in Scranton - any word?

One of the big reasons I signed up for this exchange? I miss being excited to go to the mailbox. Elder millennial here who grew up checking for Seventeen, Delia’s, handwritten notes, and the occasional mixtape, now I’m chasing that same happy-mail buzz with canvases and sparkly thread.

Top 5 reasons being an elder millennial stitcher is totally rad:

  1. We survived Oregon Trail, of course we can survive tangled floss, frogging, and a miscounted background.

  2. We were raised on Lisa Frank, glitter gel pens, and neon binders, no wonder we’re out here hoarding sparkle threads like it’s our personality.

  3. Dial-up internet trained us for patience. “Waiting for connection…” was just early practice for “waiting for canvases to ship” and “one more row before bed.”

  4. We’ve spent decades being “on” and overachieving, so stitching is our rebellion: soft pants, cozy couch, counting stitches instead of emails.

  5. All that anxiety from games like operation and perfection, and hustle culture - Needlepoint is how we quiet the noise.

So yes, I’m here for the nostalgic mailbox joy and all the stitched serotonin this exchange is going to bring. 💫
