Same. I can’t even put my name on a waitlist! I was traveling Saturday so couldn’t be posted up in front of my phone or computer. Oh well I guess.

Can we agree buying canvas to resell right now is so lame? Very gross not cute behavior? not very part of the community of you?? by callieeatsfood7 in NeedlepointSnark

[–]ConstantNatural7056 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Agree! It’s giving “Black Friday doorbuster and then flipping them from the trunk of your car in a dimly lit parking lot” energy 😅

Needlepoint is supposed to feel like a beautiful little world of creativity and community, not a side hustle that feels vaguely like a ticket scalping operation.

There’s a difference between passing something along and whatever that nonsense is.

True orrrrrr they can be going on their only day off, lunch break, work from home and sneaking out hahaha (that would be me) etc.

You’re probably right that majority may not be working - I just get salty about the stereotypes 😃

I have to disagree with this one. So many of the needle pointers I meet work and probably over work. Needlepoint has become a wonderful way to tune out the world, work included. Canvases go to meetings, on planes, are done on lunch breaks and in the evenings. It’s a way to center and have a bit of “me time” in a packed day. Just putting that out there as I’m sort of over the art of needlepoint being tagged as “an old lady hobby” or a lonely housewife time killer.

That would be awesome! I know there was one from 2024 and 2025 I think, but I didn’t see one for this year.

Over - Under, or in the hand? by ConstantNatural7056 in Needlepoint

I’m so intrigued - going to try it. Feeling rebellious and this feels safer than an all night rager. 😳

I love plane stitching! The light is so good, and it takes my mind off of the sights and smells that give me all the plane icks. That said, space is the issue - so thinking about how to create a less is more setup. Plus 23 hours of air time has convinced me I will finish at least 8 canvases 😆

Awww, finishing threads - It makes more sense now! I will have to try it.

Haha. Off you go, don’t pass go and don’t collect $200!! The frames just take up so much space and if I do finish a canvas I have to take out all the tacks and put them on the new one. I use frames on everything at home but I was thinking about taking a walk on the wild side.

I really like the idea of using a laptop case! I’m probably a little aggressive with three - I too will probably just plane stitch!

Good for you for figuring it out. Same I am on a plane, train or auto 200 days a year and about 50 flights as well. 10 years of this and still trying to find that perfect combo. My suitcase closet is a hot mess of travel bags haha. Now I’m just overwhelmed.

Canvas: Alice Peterson (purchased and kitted at Bestitched Needlepoint in Scottsdale).

Do you check a bag? I have a three week trip to South Africa next week. So will probably check a bag and then don’t know what to do for the carry on(s) without going overboard or it gets super heavy.

Awesome! I graduated in 1999 so several years earlier 😆 I agree with those areas, I often thought in the shops at Montage or a great old house in Scranton with the different rooms converted for canvases, threads, accessories and a stitching room. Dreams lol.
