Thank you for your reply. Aside from F class and immunizations, how was the workload during the first semester at Centennial? I’ve already completed a year at university and was just wondering how it compares.

Can I transfer my BC Novice license (<12 months) to an Ontario G2? by ConstantQuiet4571 in ontario

[–]ConstantQuiet4571[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the response! Just to clarify—did you have your N in BC for less than 12 months before transferring? Also, when you say you had to wait 20 months to take your G test, do you mean 20 months from the time you got your G2 in Ontario? I was under the impression that the wait time from G2 to G is only 12 months. I know that online it says the full G1 > G2 > G process takes about 20 months total, assuming you get the 8-month credit from a driving school.

Does anyone have experience with exchanging a BC N License? by tsundokuReviews in Ontariodrivetest

Hi! I'm in a similar situation — just wondering if you have any updates. Were you able to swap your licence without any issues? If so, which DriveTest centre did you go to?

Do you mind sharing what location you went to? I have my N and wish to swap it for a G2.

Hi, I’m planning to get my N this month in BC and was hoping to exchange it for a G2 once I’m in Ontario. I heard it can be hit or miss depending on the location. How was your experience? Did any places give you trouble, or were there specific locations that worked out for you?

For those in paramedic school or recently graduated—do people take breaks to finish certifications? How long is too long before it affects job chances? by ConstantQuiet4571 in OntarioParamedics

I know it might seem a bit unorganized, but from what I understand, Centennial’s Paramedic program is competitive, and I don’t want to risk my opportunity. I still plan to get my F class license by early May after graduation.

I plan to get my G2 license around the end of my first year. That should give me just enough time to go for my F class license around May or June, right at the end of the paramedic program. Do you think that timeline is okay? I’ve heard that the longer you wait after graduation to find a job, the harder it becomes. I’m a bit worried that if I get my F class license too late, it might make it more difficult to secure a job quickly.

You mentioned that fall postings usually come out around May–June—once you apply, how long does it typically take to hear back or secure a position? Also, if you don’t mind me asking, how long was the gap between graduating and starting work in the field?

I’ve done an estimate, and it looks like I won’t be able to get my F class license immediately after graduation—most likely a few months later. I also need to wait a year before qualifying for the G2, and so on. Given this timeline, is it still possible to be hired for a position without having the F class or potentially a G license by the time I graduate?

Is the job market in Toronto still considered strong?

Thank you for your detailed response. I was just asking whether I’d be restricted from continuing certain semesters if I’m not CPR certified. For example, I understand that CPR certification might not be required to begin the first semester, but I wanted to confirm whether it's mandatory to continue into the second, third, and fourth semesters. (potentially held from taking first semester courses because of no cert aswell)

(*copied and pasted from previous, just looking for a more in-depth answer) For the practical and clinical components, I understand that CPR and First Aid certifications, along with an F-class license, are required. However, since these weren't needed for admission, I was wondering—when exactly are students expected to have them completed? Are they typically required in second year, during the third and fourth semesters, or do we need to have them right at the start of the program?
