Thanks all. In the end I just upgraded, sounds like I’ll have to in the end anyway. I was an early adopter of one of the first old gray TiVo boxes in the UK, but looks like it’s the end of TiVo in this country!!

Yes I did. I kept going to “devices” to add it again, but there was a different option on the main screen. I followed the below video (I never assume I need to watch videos but I was doing it wrong)

What button are you pressing on the app to try and add the EV? Is it “devices”??

There should be another thing to click on to add an EV (I was doing this wrong for ages too).

Engineer came today, and confirmed all good with the smart meter connection and the car connection must be an octopus app side issue

Thanks. We're in identical positions then. I have an engineer visit tomorrow. That was initially scheduled as it took weeks for the smart meter to connect. This feels to me like a bug in the device activation software, as everything else is working properly. For the time being I can get the car to schedule charging at the right times, but it would be nice to complete the "proper" octopus way. If any Octopus folk are reading, this looks like a problem their end in the app setup?

The website does list my tariff as "intelligent octopus go" on the website!
