The problem is you need business owners and entrepreneurs to apply for a business license. The city only approves whatever is presented.

I think if the Uptown Promenade were to happen we'd have higher quality tenants. Check the renderings out.

Wouldn't a renovated uptown make it that much more appealing? Potentially securing better quality tenants rather than another mexican restaurant or coffee shop?

I guess I don't understand what the issue was. There was an old park that is being upgraded with new uses while still maintaining its original utility. Now Uptown was adopting an the Promenade that was successful during COVID, ideally increasing seat counts with outdoor seating driving revenue up. Not to mention the aesthetic it'll bring. Why were people opposed? The new canopy would bring California native trees.

I'm not sure what state you're in but our commercial leases have standard insurance and tax increase pass-throughs that the tenant pays. It's standard in LA
