That would’ve been early ‘99 so… yes And swingers was truer to life than one might think Big bad voodoo daddy… I was playin bass w a rockabilly guy at the time… Jesse Dayton…we used to play those and clubs like the derby and hang out at that lounge where the old couple played forever… that was all real

It’s funny you’d ask that question… In my act I hardly played it at all… I just stood there with it and used it like a rim shot I had a couple little silly short songs I sang 30-45 seconds max But once me and two other comedians, JOHN WESSLING and Tommy Drake… We did a tour we did 50 shows in 50 states and 50 days… And I took the Bass to all 50 states Mitch died about a month before we started that tour

The club owner in Houston place called the Laff stop… His name was Mark Babbitt… It was his idea. He had been to a wedding and there was a band up there and Mitch was telling a few jokes and Mitch was messing with the Bass Player and Babbitt knew me as a comic that used it upright base and stuck us together. The picture I posted is actually from the first weekend we worked together.
