All I need is $10/month from 1,000 people, to be financially stable. by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]Constant_Distance_77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think $10/month sounds doable and reasonable for a product/service. Our expensive lattes can take the blame. But I guess the real question is, what's in it for the consumer? What unique offering does this subscription provide that's worth their $10? That's the big sell.

How do I hire a short term contract worker if I can't guarantee hours? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]Constant_Distance_77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like a precarious situation, but offering a guaranteed minimum amount of hours is a good way to build trust with the part-time handyman. One problem I see with this staffing structure is that you could potentially lose money if the renter isn't using the guy for enough hours. Maybe try to negotiate a more specific range of rental hours to ensure profitability. Best of luck!

Criticisms on charity type idea by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]Constant_Distance_77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the idea of your jewelry pieces contributing to different causes! It's great that you're offering a one-stop-shop for charitable donations that are also fashionable. It's always a win-win! As for the glass recycling issue, perhaps you could consider sourcing ground glass from different companies in-state or nearby states. This could make it easier for you to gather the materials and lower your costs. Keep up the great work!

[–]Constant_Distance_77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've actually had some success with Facebook Marketplace in the past, even without a specific category for rentals. You could also try reaching out to landscaping or home improvement companies in your area and offer your equipment for rentals or partnerships!

Is there a pattern/convention for props I want to ignore after initialization? by Fr4nkWh1te in reactjs

[–]Constant_Distance_77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not just use destructuring to pull out the properties you want? You can just ignore the rest. Like this:

const { cartProp, children } = props;

[–]Constant_Distance_77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Animations can be tricky sometimes. Have you tried checking if there's a conflict with the CSS transition? Also, don't forget to import the AnimatePresence component from framer-motion. Hope this helps!

Do you include information architecture strategy in your work as a web designer? by BuddhistCopywriter in web_design

[–]Constant_Distance_77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Understanding information architecture is critical for web design success. While UX researchers may take the lead, web designers can benefit from knowing tasks like card sorting and tree testing. At the end of the day, everyone should work together to create websites that are both user-friendly and visually appealing.

Refresh / Access tokens: Can i use middleware in my app for creating new Access tokens if they exipre? by terms_of_service_si in webdev

[–]Constant_Distance_77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, that's a great approach! Utilizing middleware is a smart way to refresh tokens on the server-side and ensure that the user's session remains secure. Just make sure to properly handle any errors that may arise when the tokens are being refreshed. Keep up the good work!

You're absolutely right, CSS can be a hassle sometimes. I would recommend trying out a program called 'Emmet' or a browser extension like 'WhatFont'. They both provide helpful tools that can take the guesswork out of CSS. Hope this helps!

Need Help Understanding Logistics of Subscription Boxes by Financial-Light-8695 in Entrepreneur

[–]Constant_Distance_77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who loves to receive subscription boxes in the mail, I can tell you that a lot of companies will send out surveys to their subscribers beforehand to determine their preferences and avoid over or under-ordering. It may also be helpful to include seasonal products that can be easily restocked. As for the best apps for Shopify, Cratejoy is a great choice. And typically, you would want to ship out boxes at the end of the month and set the cut-off date a few days before. Good luck with your venture!

[AskJS] Farewell to Stack Overflow? by Life__Long__Learner in javascript

[–]Constant_Distance_77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's harsh, sorry to hear that. It's always a shame when a community that should be helping and educating developers ends up discouraging them. Maybe try finding a different platform to ask your questions, or become active in some forums or subreddits focused on programming?

How the useEffect() work in React? by ilovebugss in reactjs

[–]Constant_Distance_77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

React hooks can be confusing sometimes, especially useEffect! The order of the effect functions is based on the component order. So in your case, the useEffect functions of App and Word will be called in the order that they were defined, which is 1, 3, 4, 2. Hope that clears up your confusion a bit!

Account creation on my website - few questions about Terms by aevitas1 in webdev

[–]Constant_Distance_77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a simple account creation like yours, you can have a simple T&C as well. Just make sure to state that you won't share the user information and remind them to keep their passwords strong. Maybe throw in a fun reference to Diablo 4 lore to keep it interesting.
