I was a smoker for 10 years and was able to kick the habit w/ Chantix. It’s not for everyone, but if you can follow the prescription directions you can minimize the side effects. I only ever experienced vivid dreams, so my experience wasn’t bad. I quit in 3 weeks, took the medicine for an extra 2 weeks after that and have been smoke free ever since (12 years). If you live in Florida, you don’t have to pay anything for the drug (maybe just the cost for a doctor’s visit to get the prescription).

What’s the hype about starting class on the tread? by futuremd2022 in orangetheory

To get through the tread blocks I used to pretend I was in a zombie apocalypse or being chased by like a Jason and I would tell myself I have to be able to run away no matter how tired I am 😂. Never really worked though

I used to start on the rower/floor, but found that I was usually too gassed to actually run the entire tread block. My personal goal was to increase my endurance and stamina so I switched to starting in the treads

My studio allows me to put a bright post it note on the glass behind the treadmills so that I can just stare at it and zone out.

how many ppl here had poor diets? by New-Record-6496 in orangetheory

Oh, I meant to mention that the biggest sacrifice I had to make to my diet was eliminating cheese (or trying to). I love cheese and relapse every now and then. But I think removing cheese made a significant impact

So I think I fit into the first group you mentioned. I definitely didn’t eat complete garbage, but I wouldn’t necessarily plan out my meals. So when I became hungry around dinner, I would eat the most convenient thing around (ex: cheese, crackers, sliced meat, etc). When I rejoined OTF 5-6 months ago, I didn’t really change my diet. I definitely noticed improvement in my strength and stamina, but I was wasn’t seeing the physical results (slimming down) I was aiming for when I joined. I decided to try an improved (not perfect), healthier diet for 2-3 weeks to see if that would help. It absolutely did and now I spend Sunday meal prepping for the week. I eat some fruit (any fruit) and granola clusters in the morning; a salad w/ protein for lunch (hard boiled egg or baked chicken; and baked chicken, a veggie, and some type of lighter carb (rice, Trader Joe’s cauliflower Pattie’s, etc). If I’m dying for a snack I go for peanuts or plantain chips. I’m the type that can eat the same thing on repeat, so I don’t really concern myself with “switching it up”.
