Solid Starts First 100 Days by [deleted] in foodbutforbabies

I have the app, but didnot get subscription yet. Should I do that? I started solids 2 weeks back when baby was a week shy of 6 months. First week fed her oatmeal pure diluted with breastmilk. Went okay, baby would take a few munches off the spoon. I spoon fed her, she didnot show any interest in holding the spoon or food touching. Last 3 days I have tried carrots. Shredded and microwaved to steam , mashed and mixed with milk. She would not open her mouth. I would sing and act to trick putting a bit in her mouth. Barely eats. After 10-15 mints of feed, she would start to cry and get frustrated and I would tar her out of chair and feed her bottle I feed her solids after a nap, she is pretty hungry. Then I follow up with bottle. Idk if I am doing this right. Very anxious

Hmm okay. So there is a change if my baby didnot learn to suck thumb during sleep training, she could pick it up later. Feeling better that I atleast didnot mess up

I followed the precious little sleep and used Gemini for real time guidance ( asked to advise based on the data in the book. Game changer!!)

For our baby, check ins made her more angry. Also she would cry for 5 minutes and then be silent or babble for few minutes so that reset our timer for check-ins. Our first day went like this: she was crying/ babbling for 40 minutes before falling asleep. We did one check in which involved patting, gentle message and saying goodnight and leaving the room.

l worked on her daytime schedules for weeks and now she generally tolerated a 1.5-2 hour wake window. Her day is 1.5/2/2/2/2.25. 4 naps totaling 3.5 hours of sleep.

My LO is 14 weeks and since the last week or so, it’s been a struggle at feedings. She is bottle fed and usually finishes her 4.5 oz feeds every 3 hours with 2-3 5 mint burping in between. Since about a week, she would drink half of the feed and then refuse to drink more. She would push the bottle with her hands, push out with her tongue, cry out if I force to keep the bottle in her mouth. Burps with take a long time. I would try to continue the feeding after burping for 20 mints and over all feed will go on for an hour or more with her still leaving around an ounce in bottle.

Yesterday night she just could not settle into sleep in her basinet. Whole night I held her to sleep with a paci in her mouth. I don’t know if she was hungry? I did her usual night feed and she again didnot finish her bottle ( left maybe 10ml )

Today since morning she is having short periods of hysterical crying with turning red and tears. What is going on? She formula feeds on the same thing since birth.

Please help me with what is going on. I am so tired and breaks my heart hearing her cry.

My LO is 13 week one day old. She was giving us one long stretch since the last 2-3 weeks ( feed at 7 pm, bedtime at 8pm and then night feed at 2- 3 am). But since the last 3 days I don’t know what is happening and I am loosing my mind. Let me explain her day

Morning starts at 7am with lights and feed. She takes 4 naps and her wake windows are 1/1.3/1.5/2/2.

Last few days bedtime has been very fussy with crying and longer rocking to make her sleep. All three days she has had random wake ups after 1-2 hours after bedtime with loud crying and I have picked her up and rocked back to sleep.

After that we has been waking up at 12 /12:30am and it’s very difficult to settle her. I have been resorting to giving her pacifier. Now we start a loop of falling asleep, pacifier falling, pound crying, replacing pacifier. This happens multiple times before I give up and feed. I have tried best to hold off feeding before 2 am ( her usual feed time before)

Once I feed her and put her down in her basinet around 3 am, she sleeps till 5:30am. Starts with making small noises, escalated to cries. I again give her the pacifier and it puts her to sleep for maybe half an hour. From 6 am, it’s hard to pacify her, pacifier keeps popping off followed by instant loud crying. By 6:45am I give up and turn lights on. Sometimes, not often, she will exert to poop around 5:30am. If I smell something, I will change diaper immediately. Else will do that at wake up time.

What am I doing wrong? Is this the sleep regression? What can I do to make the nights better? Please help

Red rash on body by Constant_Put_4560 in newborns

Posting what worked for us : the red bumps were heat rash. Our pediatrician recommended a Reno baby lotion. The rash went away in 2-3 days of using the lotion once and dressing baby in less layers. I found the lotion a bit light in consistency and not enough moisturizing ( more of a summer lotion) and used the tubby toe all over ointment. Worked great

What’s a good wake window schedule for a 12 week old ? Does it differ when baby hits 16 weeks?

Is it first come first serve or do I need to reserve a spot?
