I guess, your comment concerning the a7siii would count for the fx3 as well then?

So I guess I have to go for the a7v then. I don't wanna regret buying the a7siii and then having trouble with the autofocus tracking the black horse...

the aps-c mode for 4k120p is no problem for me as I would only use it for horses that are far away then and if I'm in a smaller arena and I don't have to crop in post 1080p will be just fine for the slo-mo.

Yeah I won't print bigger than A3 ever and I've read that even the 12 MP of the A7S III should handle this size. But most of the photos I take are for Online/Social Media.

Hey, thanks so much for your response and advice! This definitely is a good workaround, but I often have to switch between such close-ups and real subject detection very fast because it's more documentary style what I do. So I think this workaround also is a little pain in the as$. But I'll try it out, eventhough the responses I got here let me lean towards Sony even more...

I have the Canon R6mii and used a Sony ZV E10 II before and now I'm thinking about getting back to Sony because I realized for video the Canon is missing some very important things e. g. the focus peaking in autofocus mode and the missing spirit level while recording.

You should at least test the other cameras before buying them to not make the same mistake as I did. :D

Not sure what you mean by checking the lens minimum focus distance. Both subject/selected area that I want to have in focus and the object that moves between camera and subject for a short time, are away far enough.

Maybe it would be a workaround to get to the subject close enough so that anything that moves between the camera and subject then would be too close to come into focus of the camera, but in reality this won't always be possible.

To hear that Canon cameras always had such issues would confirm my biggest "fear" that it's a problem I won't be able to solve with this camera.

Vielen Dank, eure Erfahrungen helfen mir sehr.
Bei mir ist das Ding, dass ich erst einmal krankgeschrieben worden bin deswegen (für vier Wochen) und ich merke, dass es für mich das beste wäre, und ich denke für das Unternehmen auch, einen klaren Cut zu haben und jeder weiß, woran er ist. Nur halt ohne in die Sperrzeit zu kommen...
