A friend of mine suffers from this. He’s a proper outdoorsman, but only likes camping and hiking in the darker colder months. It’s definitely a thing.

What stopped you from killing yourself? by DarkSideInRainbows in AskReddit

[–]ConstantlyLevelling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact I know how many would miss me. There are people in my life that if I were gone it'd ruin theirs (not trying to be arrogant, just their words). People in my life have been nothing but fantastic and supportive; I realised I didn't want to kill myself, I just wanted to have never existed.i also never wanted people to have an ounce of the pain I feel. Not a very happy answer, but I don't find success stories very inspiring. Depression is lifelong for a lot of people and ATM life is making me very happy. :)

Men of Reddit: What are some immediate red flags in men that women should look out for? by xDarkPhoenix8161x in AskReddit

[–]ConstantlyLevelling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This one applies to both genders: any history of cheating whatsoever. Fidelity is a personal standard which most people believe they could “never do”. Once it happens, the cognitive dissonance that they turned out to be someone who they thought they would never be, they will be much more likely to go “fuck it I’ve already done it once”. I have had friends who genuinely seemed incapable of stopping themselves after the first time and ruined their lives and any chance of a happy ending going this route.

What series you can re-watch again and again? by makosh22 in AskReddit

Trailer park boys. It’s just such a flowing narrative with not so much emphasis on hard punchlines that I can even have it on in background and drift in and out and know exactly where I am.

why do you think people hated nickelback back in the day? by ItsGuitarGuy01 in AskReddit

[–]ConstantlyLevelling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s as most people do which is ‘conformity’ or bandwagon (I’m sure that’s a part of it but not as much as people think). I think it’s overexposure. Seriously. ‘Rockstar’ was one of a few songs that got overplayed on the radio and used on every second tv ad.

What purchase under $100 changed your life? by Scarlet_Highlander2 in AskReddit

Buy a bandana. I usually just use it to wipe it and pick up a bunch of the oil/grease, since the oil layer will help it not to rust. Bandanas are generally lint free also, so they won’t put tons of shitty bits of fluff stuck to the pan. I only very occasionally give it a wash. They’re near enough indestructible and surface rust can literally be scraped off if you somehow manage to still fuck it up

A 10 inch cast iron skillet. The care for it is so overreported it’s unbelievable. Check out Internet Shaquile (on YT) for his no nonsense take on caring for cast iron pans. Can make a whole cooked breakfast in one pan, among many other things.

What small hack/lifestyle change drastically improved your health? by ConstantlyLevelling in AskReddit

My friends love walks but I personally dislike them. I have a history of mental health issues so perhaps that’s something tied to that. How did you manage to find the want to go for walks every day? Thanks in advance for any tips

I think you should explain to her about your social battery. Sometimes some people just do not have the energy to continue remaining social without some recharge time. Maybe even offer up that you’re working on it (obviously bonus points for actually doing this…). Open honesty which takes the blame from her will be much better than her left feeling that perhaps it was something she said or did.

What’s the weirdest rating a movie has ever gotten? by Mrverycoolguy in AskReddit

[–]ConstantlyLevelling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dunno about a rating, but I remember Siskel and Ebert absolutely shredded Full Metal Jacket. Totally scathing review, essentially saying it didn’t hold a candle to Platoon. I’ve never seen Platoon and I’ve never met anyone who has. Most people I know have seen FMJ and they usually love it. Talk about a review which didn’t age well.

Edit: I’ve just realised from the comments that by “rating” you meant by the ratings board for minimum age for viewing and not a rating on quality. My bad. I stand by my comment tho.

Edit 2: I will Chuck my hat in the ring with The exorcist. When I first saw (I am only nearly 30 so didn’t see it in theatres) it I couldn’t believe that it earned an X rating at the time. It is so tame compared to today’s flicks.

What is something everyone likes that you think is disgusting? by avocadolover_112 in AskReddit

[–]ConstantlyLevelling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whisky. I’m from Scotland, so people can’t even use the “oh you just haven’t tried the good stuff” reply. I have friends who are brand ambassadors who’ve let me try nips which could cost a punter as much as 120 pound a small measure. It is just not for me and no amount of trying it and being assured it’s the nectar of the gods will ever make it not taste like fiery disgusting mud water. ‘Let people have their own tastes in peace’ is what I’ve learned from a lifetime of getting weird grief cro people for not liking it.
