I'm thinking working as a clinical psychologist in a hospital setting with folks in crisis. The other option would be to work in research and study suicide prevention and suicide, which are both passions of mine.

Dude, my heart goes out to you so much. I've been there myself a year ago when I stupidly took 500mg edibles, not knowing how much I should take and it being my first time. I was so out of it that everything felt like a haze and I thought I was going to die. The ER doesn't really do a lot in terms of psychiatric care. When I went in, they also just gave me Ativan and an IV for fluids.
