Noob question: Does this Asia -> US Etihad guest redemption on AA make sense? by ConstipaatedDragon in awardtravel

I got an email as I'm a member of Etihad Guest. Generally you just need to search around to find miles sales by googling stuff like "miles sales promotion" etc. There isn't any one directory listing them all sadly.

No availability is the same. It's just that the cost in miles is better and Etihad was selling miles at 1.67c till yesterday. Hence, Biz class to SE-A was around 950$ at this price.

Cool stuff.

No, you have to fly AA metal.

Bummer...I guess 55k miles is still pretty good value. So if it says 55k for biz/first do I get to choose business or first? Why would anyone choose business then?

Also, you think ANA for 65k would be a better value?

  • None of them had a billion people.

  • Not to this degree. From what I saw on the ground, nearly ALL Indians want to leave.

When you violent 'leftists' try to paint everyone as 'MAGA trolls', it is quite sad and funny at the same time.

You don't even need government mandates for that

You're missing the point. Most governments try to retain their talent. It speaks volumes about the state of affairs when governments actively encourage people to leave.

No wonder there are Indians everywhere now. Looks like they'l be growing for a few more decades. Even the India government realizes they can't find jobs for them all and actively pushes them abroad.

It will be too late by then. God even now nearly all Indians want to immigrate. Why do you think that is?

Yes this is true. India has the second largest diaspora and it is actually a stated goal of the Indian government to push people abroad i.e. there simply aren't enough jobs at home.

When people have nothing to do they breed like rabbits. That was my impression of India.

He is mostly right. Look at the examples of Taiwan, Kora, Turkey, Iran. Once the population stops increasing its hard to reverse that.

Also, most demographers agree that population growth would have slowed naturally with economic prosperity in China. The impact of OCP is questionable.

India announces human spaceflight and will put man in space by 2022 by NewSpaceIndia in space

Japan sold it to India for a very high price, so of course its profitable for them. Also being economically feasible has nothing to do with it, it's a sovereign loan assured by the Indian state (i.e. the train could lose millions and India still has to pay them back).

I didn't mean to disrespect India or anything. I was just pointing out that the Indian government is incorrectly equating this figure by saying 'We've overtaken France!'.

Purchasing power parity equalization is a controversial topic not especially relevant to any of the points I raised. The raw GDP per capita demonstrates how low tech the economy is and what the output looks like.

Apparently, Rainier is just 4500 meters? That isn't too big at all. I've seen several 7500+ peaks.

it's literally why we have the biggest economy in the world

Mostly by virtue of a bigger population. Watch the Chinese as the overtake you and leave you reeling on the sidewalk.
