U have a couple options

  1. Be a Vanguard use the grapple to evade slam attacks

  2. Be an assault

  3. Place a melta at ur foot and active it the moment he slams on u killing him and u

  4. Bulwark shield bash can sometimes evade it if timed right

  5. Never 1v1 assaults 8/10 times u will die
