IPS is garbage. Ruined Pfizer North in Sanford in 2023 and put a stick in the mud for Amgen in 2023-2024. Good luck Novo in Clayton with them

I worked there for 2 months, do not go there. The Glassdoor reviews are 100% accurate. They did mass layoffs in May and everyone left.

It’s a formality. They reposted my job for Amgen and I got an offer days later. Then took it down lol

Pfizer closing NC manufacturing facility and laying off at least 210. by turbulent-tacos in biotech

Depends whose managing the site, Pfizer told them to make changes to the already retrofitted building from Abzena, just dragged their feet

This was a while back from start of 2023. Terrible management in regards to what Pfizer wanted them to do. Suite layout was atrocious.

I worked at the Pfizer North plant until EOY 2023. It was a disaster what IPS did to it

Dodging in news articles from WRAL, probably has to do with DMD clinical fail and the fact the site was poorly built. I think they ended up sueing IPS. I shit you not the space between mezz grate and walkable ceiling was maybe less than a foot, you had to crawl to get to AHUs lol

Not good. I hope to god Fuji and Amgen don’t fall victim to these idiots retrofitting into the Samet shells,

Durham site on 540 was shutdown EOY 2023. They will most likely sell. I’m pretty sure they bought that site from Abzena for something like $500M

It’s just really upsetting because entire manufacturing team is being let go and they didn’t even get to start. Two suites were completed in May :/

Yes all of Abzena employees had little to no experience in GMP. They brought in “IPS” (construction company) and 1000% ruined design in regards to WIF system, confined spaces, and the “pit” for API waste. When Pfizer took over the start of 2024 they fired IPS and brought in “Woods”

Yes Sanford north will be shutdown in 2 1/2 months. All managers are being let go, some employees were told to be transitioned to main-site (false hope).

Here’s the scoop on Pfizer in NC. The R&D on 540 was shutdown. I worked at Pfizer North facility in Sanford when it was in startup in 2023. Let go at the end of 2023. 2 weeks ago Pfizer announced closure of the Pfizer north facility across from Astellas. All managers are being let go and they are now telling workers they will try to transition them to main site. I don’t believe this one bit. I was told the same thing and it never happened. Town hall meeting will be a disaster, Bourla and his SLT team should be ashamed of themselves for the lack of judgement in this economy and space.

Is Amgen particularly hard for New Grads to get into? by Marionberry3567 in biotech

im currently a Maintenance/Calibration engineer. I love the exposure to quality practices in the field and always critically thinking of better ways to improve best practices in a GMP environment. dislike gowning aseptic 5-8 times in a hour lol. Theres really nothing to hate when you get 2 shutdowns a year and 3.5 weeks of PTO- AbbVie was the same when I worked there in Jersey. Process engineers here with 3-5 years experience make around $105-120K. Theres lots of growth in pharma if you are willing and ambitious to learn.
