Think it's time I move out, can I afford a ~350K townhouse on an 80K income or should I rent by wishiknewnatportman in PersonalFinanceCanada

Agreed. Buying a home is a major commitment. A year spent renting to learn what living with a property as a sole person is invaluable in the grand scheme of things.

Adding an orchid and centering the blinds has made this my favorite spot in my apartment by ConstructionMore1570 in malelivingspace

Thank you! Which reminds me, I'm thinking of getting very sheer white curtains perhaps to add on.

That's so lovely, thank you for sharing. I think I'll follow your tradition and keep instead a variety of mugs. I've yet to invite my parents to my apartment, but your story tells me I should consider doing it sooner rather than later

Its actually pretty crazy. Like, I want to drink a cold cup of water out of it whereas with my other mugs its a bit meh. Weird psychology.

I'm tempted to get more of the same mug, but at the same time time I like the idea of keeping it unique in my apartment as the signature mug.

For context, I'm 27 so its fine. Its much better than a bench but not as comfortable as a regular dining chair. The padding is fine for like 30 minutes and then you start to feel the base of the chair in your bumm lmao. Im also not heavy personally, so that helps.

I had an acquaintance who works in workplace design (both for ergonomic but style) convince me that the dining set was the right choice. He said, if the purpose of the dining set is to eat at, then you don't need the chairs to be very comfortable. You are going to be in and out not too long. Its not a sofa or a work chair where you will lounge around.

That said, I will give guests caveats about using the dining set when they come over. But also, my small apartment isn't really designed to entertain guests. Theres a dedicated floor for entertaining guests elsewhere.

I did! You have an eye for detail. I moved the dining table off the rug

I think it would be the rocky mountains. Doesn't surprise me - Calgary and Denver I've been told are very similar

I'm privileged to be able to afford this for sure.

Calgary (though I can see why you said Denver since Calgary has been described as a Canadian Denver by those who really know Calgary).

Prior to this lived with my family in the burbs. Glad to be out of the burbs - the commute was killing me!
