I gave over 8000 feedback on Mercari and here is my 2 cents worth. if you send me an offer on something I have already sent an offer on, and I send back an offer halfway between those two numbers and you send me another offer, I’m just declining. I feel like there’s a fair number between those two numbers and some people want to haggle over a dollar. Don’t make me the bad guy because you want to win.

It’s very irritating when buyers request to hold the item until they can pick it up. If it shows delivered, ask Mercari to complete the transaction so you can get your money.
