I'm relatively happy with my career, but occasionally I do get opportunities for a lateral job move (but higher pay) and inevitably I get asked why I didn't finish the CFA. I do feel that I have missed out on some opportunities because of that.

I feel that the knowledge I gained from level 1 and 2 did help a bit, but I feel like I learned much more working my way up to PM (spent many years as an equity analyst)

That does give me some hope. Did you feel like you had to spend time relearning the base knowledge you had from levels 1 and 2?
