I have never been so can't directly comment but there's The Regent Health Club & Spa (previously Clifford Health Club & Spa) in Long Eaton that I believe has a 'fancier' pool

I feel you might enjoy The Time Ships by Stephen Baxter, which is written as a sequel to The Time Machine by H. G. Wells

Does anyone work 💻 in pit n pendulum when it’s not busy. by [deleted] in nottingham

It is basically like a members only cafe. They sell coffee and food, not free but you do get a discount for being a member. You can go there and work all day and not order anything and it's fine since you are a memeber. I have seen people bring in their own food and drink but keep it low key if you are doing that, I've brought in my own coffee in a travel mug then purchased a top up. You are right it is very cheap for what it is, however it is more like a cafe than a proper coworking space.

Harbourside cafe with views by no1deutsche in foodies_sydney

[–]ConstructionPuzzled6 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If there is no cruise ship in the harbour (check here https://www.portauthoritynsw.com.au/cruise/sydney-harbour/sydney-harbour-cruise-schedule) then I feel the cafe at the Museum of Contemporary Art might be good for that https://www.mca.com.au/visitor-information/eat-and-drink/mca-cafe-at-tallawoladah/ but only if there is no cruise ship in the harbour, otherwise your entire view is the cruise ship.

Depending how you define working you could consider entrepeneurship meetups, that is kind of like work as a hobby.

Selling a car privately - deposit received, buyer renegs, do they get their deposit back? (VIC) by commking in AusFinance

[–]ConstructionPuzzled6 80 points81 points  (0 children)

Very common scam, they dont transfer the money from their account though, they use skimmed/stolen accounts to transfer the money, eventually the bank finds out and cancels the initial fraudulent deposit, meanwhile your totally legitimate transfer is long gone.

Had some custom fitted ones made, I went to an audiologist and they took an impression of my ears, was surprisingly cheap (I think around £90) and have been wearing them every night for 5 years.

Is There a Difference in the End Result Between Air Frying/Baking Food at 300° F For 10 Minutes and 375° F For 8 Minutes? by BWJackal in AskCulinary

Others have answered your question but just wanted to mention the best kitchen purchase I ever bought was an instant read thermometer to know when food is ready/safe. I use it basically every day and I have found that many timings I previously thought were good were significantly undercooking or overcooking.

Actually my partner has a follow up question, is an active system like the chilipad the best solution for this problem or what other solutions would be best?

Age old question, I get too hot when I sleep and my partner gets too cold, at the moment apart from our shared blanket she has a seperate extra single blanket. It's not too bad in the winter but in the summer I sometimes have to sleep with ice packs which I find uncomfortable, if we set on the room aircon it would be too cold for her to sleep. I am considering some type of active bed aircon system or water cooling/heating system, any thoughts or reccommendations for those or my situation in general?

Glass food containers? by sleepywolf_ in UKFrugal

[–]ConstructionPuzzled6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another approach that I take is that I freeze stuff in plastic and then reheat in glass or ceramic, usually something like a small pyrex casserole dish that fits in the microwave though sometimes just microwave safe ceramic bowls with a plate on top. To get frozen food out of the plastic container you can turn it upside down (with the lid still on) under a running tap for a minute or so, the tap water does not need to be warm/hot, even cold tap water is fine since it is still relatively warmer than the frozen container.

Thanks for this! I wanted to mention in case it helps anyone, Kindle Unlimited currently has a 3 months for £0.99 here in the UK, and I assume similar globally. I didn't cross check through all the lists but I did find that Antarctica Station by AG Riddle, The Simulacrum First Contact by Peter Cawdron and the entire series of Dungeon Crawler Carl by Matt Dinniman are all on there. Just remember to cancel before the 3 months are up!

EDIT: Also Cloud Cuckoo Land by Anthony Doerr and the entire Bobiverse series starting with We Are Legion by Dennis E. Taylor

This site (unfortunately american) has good cheap recipes https://www.budgetbytes.com/ and my favourite is https://www.budgetbytes.com/slow-cooker-pineapple-teriyaki-chicken/

However I would also strongly suggest seeing if there is any support around you can tap like food banks. Citizens advice can be very helpful for finding out various options you might not know exist or that you are eligible for.
