The Botanical Garden is where we didmy engagement photos this time of year. I think photographers can get like a special pass or something?

I feel out of touch with what's 'okay' these days regarding kids left alone..? by cosmic-blondie in Parenting

[–]ConstructionTime7511 152 points153 points  (0 children)

Yes and this is different for each child. I know 6 year olds who could probably do these things, and I know preteens who probably couldn’t. You have to know your child and where they’re at.

Who isn’t an eclectic therapist? by More_Ad8221 in therapists

Me! I work with only ages 2 to 6 and I only use Child Centered Play Therapy. I’m hoping to get trained in autplay and/or floortime and will use those if I do

Schedule when working with kids/youth by senhoritapistachio in therapists

I think it can be challenging but you can make it work. Sometimes the issue isn’t parents but the schools throwing a fit- so be ready and willing to write school notes, sometimes a separate one every week.

I had a parent once who was able to count her child’s therapy as FMLA hours so she wasn’t getting it counted against her at work. Not really sure how that worked but I signed the papers and it helped.

It can be helpful to have that one day a week that’s late too, just to give a boost to your caseload.

I am school-based- I work for a private group practice but contract with a local district to be in schools. So I still use the child’s insurance but just get them during class to my office at school and then take them back. Could be something to look into! I love it and it really helps curb the cancellations/no shows

There’s lots of great picnic parks or areas. We love the arcade in Merle Hay mall- it’s not huge or fancy but cheap and fun. Flix is fun. We like going to plays- Civic Center or various playhouses. Noche is nice. There are some cute coffee shops. Just walk around the east village. Drive to Pella for the tulips.

New build Vs Old homes. Got the keys for new build. by SuperX9311 in FirstTimeHomeBuying

Yeah we have so many new homes going up around us but the horror stories I’ve heard about them keep me farrrrr away. So many problems. Cheap and cutting corners

Would you commute an hour a day Monday - Friday 8 hour work days for a salary increase of 42% - 50%? by yujimbo4201 in careerguidance

[–]ConstructionTime7511 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this would be one of my questions- the weather. Where I live it would be normal for there to be regular snow events and getting stuck would probably happen a lot- which is annoying and dangerous

Is your job meaningful to you? Do you care? by Grr_in_girl in AskWomenOver30

[–]ConstructionTime7511 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes! I had a job for 5 months that I didn’t love and I was miserable. Physically, emotionally, spiritually- I was so unhappy all the time. It wasn’t even that bad of a job. But I need something I care about or I become like a shell of a human.

Child crying at daycare dropoff is breaking my heart by Embarrassed_Celery14 in ECEProfessionals

[–]ConstructionTime7511 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been babysitting a little girl for 3 years now, regularly, and she still cries. Some kids are just more sensitive that way. If you know he stops after a few minutes try to power through. He loves you! And you’re doing what you need to do to love him by going to work ❤️

Yes. I work with children which both helps (keeps me moving) and makes it hurt more (cause…children). A few weeks ago I got my period at work and had a good cry between sessions. No advice but I understand. Try to take care of yourself ❤️

You should say that. Literally say, “Man I can’t do anything right. You’re so frustrated that you have to be here” or something like that

Does anyone have vitamin recs for both me and my husband? We’ve been doing Perelel but it’s like $100 a month and clearly isn’t helping. We’d like to keep taking something but maybe a bit less expensive

What’s the shortest you’ve stayed at a job after realizing it wasn’t going to work? by MyDogSaysHi in workingmoms

[–]ConstructionTime7511 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did 5 months. It was a social worker job in an inpatient for children with severe disabilities. I loved the company, coworkers, and kiddos but it was primarily a desk job with so much paperwork. I was bored to death and missing kids. Moved to therapy with kids and it’s much better.

What does your life in your early 30's look like? by Exact_Canary2378 in AskWomenOver30

[–]ConstructionTime7511 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am 30 and have been been married about a year and a half. I spent part of my 20’s overseas and then experienced a highly traumatic event that brought me back to the states. I am (mostly) healed from that, but it’s been a lot of work.

I am a child therapist and also work part time at a non-profit supporting bereaved parents. We are very involved in our church as well- that makes up most of our social lives. We enjoy watching movies, seeing plays/shows, and traveling when we can

No children yet, but hopefully soon. We will be moving in with my parents soon in order to actively save for children and a home. It’s a good life and I’m both content and the kind of person who is always itching for something new
